Earthquake is the perceptible shaking of the surface of the Earth,

resulting from the sudden release of energy in the Earth's crust that creates
seismic waves.

Earthquakes have disastrous effects on the environment; shaking


and breaking of the ground that can and will destroy cities, Trees, material
things to fall on you. During a damaging earthquake, life-protecting actions
must be taken immediately. There will not be time to decide what to do
next; everyone must already know how to react appropriately. This is the
purpose of earthquake drills;

Earthquake drills and exercises are an extremely important part of your


preparedness plan because they

1) teach students, staff and parents how to respond to the complications of


an actual earthquake.

2) help you evaluate how well all parts of your emergency plan work
together, and how well your staff and students

have been trained.

Scientists tend to predict an incoming earthquake but they have no


way of telling when it will actually happen. Thus, Preparation for
earthquakes are highly recommended. The following are guidelines before,
during and after an earthquake.
