What if trump wins a second term?

I saw a meme the other day that read, “America needs a president that bombs interviews and not
countries”. If that can’t be an endorsement of Trump deserving a second term, I don’t know what can.
The first time Trump, a veteran of reality shows such as The apprentice, made the announcement to run
for U.S. presidency, I didn’t heed the news a lot of importance. And rightly so, why would I? If a TV
personality in India (whose TV show often questions the viewers IQ week in, week out) ran for the
parliament, would you expect me to take their candidature seriously. I am sure you wouldn’t expect that
candidate to beat the prodigal descendants of the country’s first prime minister. But as I have been
observing since I started taking an interest in world affairs, what you expect and what happens are
usually vastly disparate. What seems obvious to you, might be unexpected for someone else. Common
sense as they say is fairly common.

Coming to the question at hand, WHAT IF President Donald J. Trump, gets a second term. What would
happen? Will he bomb the hell out of Iran as he has been promising? Will he continue to cut down on
privileges bestowed upon the great American nation on minnows like India and China? Will the story of
making America great again continue on the amazingly bigoted path? Will the wall promised to run from
San Diego on the west coast all the way to Brownsville on the east coast be finally funded?

Let’s tackle the biggest promise of Mr. President’s election campaign. The beautiful wall. The wall
expected to run across all of the U.S. Mexico border, an approximate 3145km, built from solid American
concrete is estimated to cost anywhere between $12 billion to $15 billion. But the problem is that
despite being in office since 2016, not much of the work on the wall has started. But I am sure Mr.
President would be able to achieve what he promised, it’s just the pesky elected officials of the senate
getting in the way. Damn democracy!

I also expect Mr. President’s second term to involve a lot of rescinded promises and treaties. Because
why would a man let his word and integrity get in the way of what he wants to achieve. He has already
exited the Paris climate agreement, stating that the temperature is not that hot where he lives. In one
full stroke, dismissing years of research on climate change. His short sightedness is truly baffling at
times. This puts U.S. in the same lines as Nicaragua and Syria, the only two UNFCCC members not to sign
the agreement. Now even they have signed it. During his next term he could claim that earth is not flat
or that vaccinations actually do cause autism. As long as he is able to gratify his voter base, facts be
damned. It would be fun to see United States forming its own Flat Earth Society.

The sheer arrogance on which the current president of United States operates can be chilling at times.
His twitter banter about North Korea’s “Button” was truly shuddering. His motto, Make America great
again, was a bullseye exploiting citizen’s unfamiliarity with the changing times and uncertainty of
immigration. My question to Mr. President before he begins his second term would be, when was
America not great? And like Bill Burr has so eloquently put forth, by the time the wall is built, we will be
one’s going over it.
