Young-Tae Chang et al in 2017 work to Investigate the in which he analyze the aspects that motivate

shipping firms (carriers) to adopt green shipping practices. Earlier different researches has been taken
place to Improve and for better understanding of environmental aspects of Shipping Industry. Lister et al
revealed that research on specifically shipping industry for environmental studies is straggling way back
as compared to other Industries. It has been also studied that if green shipping practice is adopted it can
boost the shipping firm productivity and environmental performance. Lai et al explained green shipping
practice as an environment management practice task by shipping companies with highly emphasize on
waste decrease during the operation in handling and distributing cargo.

The variable used in theory includes regulatory environment, Industrial norm, customer environmental
demand and Firms own environmental strategy to adopt the green shipping practice furthermore once
you adopt GSP it will positively impact your environmental performance and productivity performance.

The sample size of this research is 77 in which fifty of them were filled from the online questionnaire
which was sent to the shipping lines and the remaining twenty seven were from the drop-off survey.

After the completion of data, many test were applied like Reliability, Exploratory factor analysis,
Confirmatory factor analysis using the statistical tool SPSS. In this research the approach used is
structured equation modeling to identify the factors that motivate shipping firms to adopt green
shipping practices (GSP)
