First week
“New environment”
“Job training empowers people to realize their dreams and improve lives”

With this activity that I joined for the first time, I fully understand why it was called
an “immersion”. It is enable us to grow and to realize that life starts at the end of one’s
comfort zones. Having the immersion was really good start to experience how does it feel to
be in a work place. Finally work immersion was done, in four weeks. During my stay at
Municipal Social Welfare and Development office (MSWDO) I learned a lot of things. I
learn to value my time and disciplined myself in waking up early. During immersion week I
learned quite a few handy skills and information.
On my first day as trainee, I felt nervous to commit mistake because I was a student.
Ma’am Mercedes Pagulayan oriented us on the things we should do in her office. After that,
ma’am Haydee Canapi (MSWDO) and ma’am Mercedes Pagulayan gave us a task to do, we
count all OSY in every Barangay and then record it. Second is that we helped the staff to
entertain clients. On the other day our clients were senior citizens, I assist and interview some
of them. Until our first week is done.

In my second week in my immersion. I was given the task to interview our client that
will undergo for pre-marriage counseling. I asked first their names, age, address, occupation,
and educational attainment. In whole week we just interview a client.
Third week
“Be patience”

It was our third week when theres a client for counseling. So we asked for helped to
Sir Rino. After that we wait again a client in a whole week we interview and entertain people.
Fourth week

In the 4th week, still we did what we used to do. Wait for a client and interview them.
After that we told to our client that they need to come back on Friday morning at exactly 8:00
am. After that our supervisor told us to have a disciplined. On Friday morning it is our last
day to our work immersion. As I enter to my workplace we fix all the chairs for our client.
They were going to have a counseling, while the lecturer is talking I just listened and don’t
make noise. They talked about what is marriage, family planning and the rights of child. In
the afternoon we just wait another client our workplace.
REFLECTION
These 160 hours of immersion is helpful and meaningful experience during Senior
High School days. It is amazing you can gain knowledge, ideas, insight and background in
choosing what course you are going to take in college. This experience helps me on how to
be a responsible, better person and a successful professional someday.
In my case, I was so to fortunate enough to have my immersion at municipal social

welfare and development office (MSWDO) because in the strand of HUMSS. I am very
much happy because working at MSWDO is one of my dream job in the near future and
spending my immersion there, even in just a short span of time had really opened my eyes on
how fun at the same time, stressful to work at social welfare. After a few weeks of
immersion, I have realized some things that will be useful for my future. First, discipline is
very essential, next is patience. Patience when it comes to clients especially in entertaining.
Next is respect it is very important to be respectful. And lastly, always posses a positive
attitude because positivity is next to tranquillity.
I learned how to manage my time carefully, making that I got to finish all the work
tasks as assigned to me. I learned how to interact with people in the workplace and I learned
how to professionally deal with people. I realized that social workers are not only skilled at
clinical, casework, group facilitation, family work, housing and financial referrals, intake,
crisis intervention and community development, they are also called to run-in services,
problem solve, listen, and advocate. My confidence has increased through their
encouragement and opportunities and to stop outside of my comfort zone and to try new
things. I am glad for another experience that I will treasure the most. There I have
experienced new things that aren’t familiar with the things I usually do at school.

Narrative Report
“You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.”
In our first week in staying at MSWD we experienced a lot; Just like we interview our
client and assist them.
In our first day, we had one couple and these couple take the exam and hade marriage
counseling. After that ma’am Ched gave us some paper works to do. Second day I helped Sir
Gabriel to interview some client that is seeking for Financial Assistance. 3rd is that we also
assist the senior citizen until the last day of first week. In are last day of first week we have
also 5 couple. I think? Who take the exam and we told to come back on Friday. And these are
what I experienced in our first week.
Every time we have client I learned how to become patience, because patience is our virtue.
As a day’s pass by we learn something new, we experience everything new. In our 1st week I
observed that it’s not easy to become a social worker especially if you have a lot of client.
You really feel tiredness, Because in our first week our client is senior citizen and were really
tired when I go home I realized that as work we need to act like a professional to become
respect full especially for client.
Reflection
So far, my experience there was fun at the same time, I can say that it is also somewhat
boring because most of my time was wasted by sitting and waiting for nothing. Why?
Because there are seven immersion students there, including me. And because we were that
many, things to do are also divided .All you have to do is wait and be patience if there is
something that is assigned to you.
After a few weeks of immersion, I have realized some things that will really be useful for my
future. First, punctuality is very essential because in this simple way, you can how serious
you are to your job, next would be patience. Patience when it comes to the tasks that they’re
going to give you, as well as the times that you’re just waiting for the next task that will be
given to you, even if you already got bored waiting for nothing.
In our 160 hours stay in MSWD, we know how to mingle with different kinds of people we
met and we were glad to know about them. We admire the people there because they are very
friendly.

REFLECTION
One of the best moment you will experience during a grade 12 student is the work
immersion is a galactic blessed to experience this experience was a heartwarming. A
unforgettable one, by this moment I learned a lot. you will learned how life it is the reality of
being a successful one. For almost twenty days experiencing a work immersion outside the
campus I could say that it is such my first time to felt like a real employee that it should be a
responsible in every time. For me I learned that we should have a patient in doing a work or
task.
Be yourself and if someone disappointed at you don’t mind it rather prove to them
that you can do it for the second time better mostly listen carefully in every instruments of
your boss to avoid some mistakes. I learned that you should talk to them in a formal way,
train yourself to come early in your office manage your time and always at the exact time act
a matured enough.
In my experience I can say that I truly enjoyed every day I went to our agency
because they treat us like a real employee. They are very kind and generous, mostly they are
real with us and always advising us what are the better things we should do, they care us like
the way we did too the way you communicate to other like the way you talk to them must be
in a good manner and right conduct learned to love the things what must you hate to do wear
a formal dress in every time you will go to the office. Don't dress what you like and wants,
respect the rules and regulations learned to wait for the break time. This work immersion
experience taught me to be as a professional learned to listen others opinions. Respect all the
people you will met everyday leave a good memories and grab all the opportunity in your life
be a role model and prove that you deserve all the things you've done.
Having experience in a work immersion change me indeed make me as natured enough
bring me in the reality that life is full of struggles. Life is not early for achieving your dreams
and goals. Every success you're done behind is there are many mistakes and struggles that
you will encounter first. As I've experience this it helps me to get ready in advance so that
someday I know what are the things I will do and not being ignorant in doing a tasks in the
work don't be shy who you are. Have a confident at yourself.

First Week
“Exhausting Days but Happy”
In our First Week, we do many things most of it is the signing and receiving of files in
the Mayor’s Office and to close the logbooks in time. In our first day in the morning the first
thing that we do is to have the Flag Ceremony .Ma’am Paulette discuss all of the things that
we need to do and they discuss all of the offices. I feel nervous in that moment, because my
companion Myra is absent. And I don’t know where I will go, because I don’t know what
office they assigned to us. So that I just join with my friend. And then sir Jerome said that I
was assigned in HRMO so that they accompanied me to go to the HRMO. And when I was
there at the HRMO I feel more nervous again because it was ma’am Paulette Aquino, but my
nervous was gone when they welcome me with smile .And ma’am Mae, the assistant of
ma’am Paulette teach me what will I do. It’s a little bit hard because I didn’t understand well
the writings and its makes my head hurt until one of my schoolmates help me because they
have no work to do. And also I am the one who will bring out the logbooks for them to
signed to log out. In our second day, in the morning ,I was relief when my companion Myra
is present, because I have a partner in doing the works ,to make our works fast. Together with
my companion we arranged the files in alphabetically that ma’am Mae command to us. And
they command me to go to the MSWD to call someone. And to look to sir Narciso to sign a
file but he is in the Session Hall, so that I came back to tell it to ma’am Paulette. And after a
minutes ma’am Paulette command me and Myra to go to many offices to signed the files .We
go first to the Mayor’s Office ,and then to the other offices until it was done. When we give
the files to ma’am Paulette ,she said that we need to have their names ,so that we go back
again . And after that ma’am Mae is on out going, so that she leaves her works to us .And in
the afternoon we just continue our work .Until ma’am Paulette command me again ,but this
scene is epic the one that I call is wrong ,it’s the wrong person .and ma’am Paulette is
laughing and I was very shy in that moment .And I just apologize and she just say it’s ok then
she laugh again .After that we has no works to do. In our third day, all we do is we arranged
the files in alphabetical arrange. And in the afternoon ma’am Mae leave a work for us to in
the other day. In our fourth day, we do the files that ma’am Mae leave to us, and after that
ma’am Paulette command us to go to the Mayor’s Office to sign the files .And in the
afternoon there are few things that we do.
Second Week
“To Learn New Things”
In our second week ,In our fifth day, all we do is to go to the offices to give files for
them to sign. And ma’am Paulette is on leave, so that we have few things to do. In our sixth
day, in the morning the work that ma’am Mae command to us, is to arrange the files into
alphabetically .And after that we insert a files in the folders of the employees .In our seventh
day, ma’am Mae said that we have few works to do because ma’am Paulette is absent. In two
hours after ma’am Mae command me to arrange the Pass Slips. And after that ma’am Mae
command me to look for a folder that I didn’t find fast. And until I found it I arrange again
the files inside the folder. Eight day, we just do the scanning of the SAL’N in DILG in the
morning and in the afternoon we didn’t continue the scanning of the SAL’N because it was
being occupied by the employee of the DILG ,so that we have no work to do until it was time
to go home. In our nineth day, in the morning ,we just collect all the logbooks to close out in
the time 8:16 .And then we arrange it ,then we go again to the DILG to continue again the
scanning for the SAL’N ,at first it was smoothy to scan until the scanner didn’t work ,so that
we stop it .In the afternoon still the scanner didn’t work so that we have no work again until
it’s time to go home.
Third week
“Working Alone is Hard”
And in our third week In this week my companion Myra is absent ,so that I am alone
to do all the works that they will command .This week it was the very tiresome days ,because
there are many files that need to be sign by the Mayor’s Office .And I am to and fro to make
all the files receive and to be signed .And there are many files that I arrange alone. And in
this week I learned that being alone in a work is very hard ,because you need to hurry up your
works to finish it on time ,and for you to finish all the works that you need to do in everyday.
In our fourth week, this week in the thirteenth day, ma’am Mae command me to encode
the Birthday’s of the employees. And I am the one again to do this work because Myra is
absent again in this day. Sometimes ma’am Mae go to my side to check what I am doing until
when she have no work to do she assisted me to encode to make it fast. In the afternoon
together with ma’am Mae we just continue to encode and I just dictate .And when we finish
the Birthday Directories, it’s also time for us to go home.
Fourth week
“Moments to Remember”
In our fourteenth day ,it was Monday and my companion Myra is absent again .As
usual I do close out the logbook to Flag Ceremony because is Monday and then go for the
Flag Ceremony .After the Flag Ceremony ma’am Paulette command me to make the files
receive to the Mayor’s Office and to the SB. And when I go back ma’am Paulette command
me again to go back o the SB to get a copy of file to ma’am Maricris. And I the afternoon I
just go again to the Mayor’s Office to make the files receive. In our fifthteenth day finally my
companion Myra is present , Im happy of course because I have a companion to do the works
and I am not alone anymore .It was morning but we have been get scolded by the employee
from GSO ,we didn’t say anything while they say anything to us because we are shy and we
have been embarrassed. We just forgotten that scene and continue our work ,we make the
files to receive again .We just forgotten that scene and continue our work, we make the files
to receive again to the mayor’s office and ma’am Paulette said that we will continue the
scanning of the SAL’N again .In our sixteenth day ,in this day we have a mass , and after the
mass , we didn’t go back yet to the HRMO because there are many employees there together
with the Mayor and the Vice Mayor . When they leave ,that’s the time that we go back .And I
receive Pass Slips and after that ma’am Paulette said again that we will continue the scanning
of the SAL’N ,so that we go directly to the DILG room to continue the scanning and at last
we finish it. And after that we didn’t do anything until it’s for lunch break. In our seventeenth
day, my companion is abent again so that I was just alone again who fix all the files inside the
folders in the cabinet and arrange it alphabetically. And in the afternoon I have many files to
distribute into many offices and I am just alone who distribute those files. In our eighteenth
day, it was our last day of immersion in the LGU, but my companion is still absent, and there
was just few work that I do, because there was a deliberation. I just take pictures of them
while there were in deliberation, and when ma’am Paulette command me to get a files in the
cabinet like that. And in the afternoon they have no any command to me. And together with
my companions with the office we buy a snack for our boss for thanking them because they
accept us to associate with them in their works.
REFLECTION
In our first week in the LGU is all that I can say is it’s a tiresome, but happy because
we have done a nice job and help them to minimize their works. I learned that being like
them who do the works is not easy, even if it is a file’s that need to sign .It also hard because
there many files to fix. And also in that first week I learned to understand well the writings of
the employees. In our second week I learned how to work on the Pass Slips and I learned how
to scan that I don’t know before .In our third week I learned that being alone in a work is very
hard ,because you need to hurry up your works to finish it on time ,and for you to finish all
the works that you need to do in everyday. In our days, weeks staying at LGU is tiresome, but
Im proudly saying, I was very happy that I was been there, because its good in the feeling that
you work, and I experience a lot that I never experienced before ,and I am happy also that I
meet other people that are kind, and to become their friend.

First Week
“The new experiences”
In our first week, we do many things most of it is assisting Senior citizen, Arranging
them to be easily conducted their Interview, I learned to become patient and kind I also
learned to help other in just a simply way giving them water and chair while waiting their
term to be interview, I also learned to become humble and be nice to other ever employee nor
senior citizen when they are asking something. I boosted my self confidence to socialize, I
encountered different people in their own different attitude. I learned how to interview with a
couple to have their marriage counseling, I also experienced on how to interviewed people
seeking financial assistance it so tired week but happy because I know to myself that I served
and help people in just simple way I do all my best and done my job and helped them to
minimized their work.
Second week
“Enjoy while learning”
In our second week Only one day that we get in to the office because in the four days
we go to our school to do important matters. In that One day in this week where helping Sir
Rino to minimize her work by simply Arranging the line in order and assist the senior citizen
most of it the PWD to have their interview while we gives our service to them I and Ms.
Budtan go to office of Ma'am Ched some of us assisting senior citizen while we interviewing
those couple to having their marriage counseling we give them questionnaire to be answer
most of the questions that is funny but serious in having husband and wife personal in having
family. In the last part of the questions that I never remembered is about super personal
question that if you are the one in their situation you will laughed I'm sure and think wise.
Third Week
“Knowing Each Other”
In our third week, yes the interviewed is already done and we don't feel so tired in this
week just a little bit because the work is not so difficult and the people needing our service is
few. Only the people going to us and asking something for example in what department they
need to go. While we are waiting a couple to have their Marriage counseling examination we
cleaned the backyard of the office sweep and released those grasses to look clean and bright.
In the afternoon while we are sitting waiting some couple Sir Rino, talked to us we feel
comfortable to her .Because he is so kind and funny. We built in diverse we helping each of
us to that's why all work become easy
Fourth week
“The Unforgettable Moment”
The last but I hope not the least. It is the most memorable part of staying in our
immersion office because not just knowledge they give us lesson. They also give opportunity
to be one of them . We learned also to become respectful to everyone. I salute on how they
are managing their work while days past I observe that MSWD is Multitasking there are so
many people needed their services. I am so happy to be experience being them. Ma'am Ched
give us some questions to answer I feel nervous and funny that time because I feel we are in
school answering does questions and need to defense your answered. While I'm answering
those questions every questioned that I encountered I think very deep but when we are
defensing those answer that we shared on each of every one Ma'am Chef told us that not the
things we need to know learned from him. It also the values we need to become respectful
Ma'am Ched Says that not only the intelligent is important also the good manner and right
conduct of a person it is useless even you are a professional already I am so touched on what
she's saying. We realized that she is right. Then we go back to our place and waiting a couple
in this week we finally watched and learned in the live marriage counseling Ma'am Ched is
the first one who speak in front of those couple he told to them that being husband and wife is
not easy you must need to be patient and love your partner in sickness and in health. You
need to be on side of your partner. She asked them one by one to know their opinion about on
what is marriage? To finally understand if they are already ready to be married then the
midwife told them the right of every women being pregnant the things that they need to do
and the needs of baby when they already born the right of every child. She also included the
family planning and contra to born many baby because of the problem of growth population
it may cause poverty. Yes! It also teacher in our school but just details unlike those they
demo and we learned a lot of it.
MY REFLECTION
In staying in our immersion Area I learned and experience a lot that I been never
experienced before, staying and be one of them is not easy I need to adjust things liked time
managing, socialized to other and I need to do. I learned to become confident even I actually
shy person I encountered different attitude in different people. I learned on how to interview
a couple also to interview people who seeking financial assistance and assist senior citizen. It
is a great experience putting my self in a situation of other and I was so happy to experience
it. Does experiences I can apply this in the near future and I loved the way we work together I
learned to become patient, because patient is virtue and you must need to love your work to
become all of this will successful while you are enjoying.

Narrative Report
During our first day of immersion, every one of us is exciting and everyone is
assigned for their different department. I assigned in the MSWD they discuss the rules and
regulations of their department. Second today we attend Mass and after the mass we clean the
surrounding and the afternoon ma'am Ched give us work. For the third day we continue the
work they give yesterday until the time is over and the last day of the week we work again
about the marriage counseling and sir Reno ask everyone to interview the couple for their
marriage and that the last day of week we learned how to socialize with other people.
In our second week of our immersion, I encounter many struggled. But I have to cope
and trust myself that I can make it for my ambitions and goal's to my life. In this week day 6
of my work immersion we attend the flag ceremony and interview the couple for their
marriage and day 7 we continue again to interview after that. I helped Ma'am Cristine to fix
her office and day 8 of my immersion we helped the regional to interview the senior citizen
for their beneficiary and day 9 we continue helped the regional again and afternoon we
helped ma'am Ched to clean her office.
In the third week of our immersion in the L.G.U in MSWD, I was very happy because
we helped one another to finish our work given to us. This third week of our work immersion
for the first day, we attend the flag ceremony and after that we continue again to interview the
soon to be couple for their marriage until the time is over,and second day we continue again
to interview the couple and the afternoon we just wait the client to come until the time is
over. And in The third day of our work immersion we clean the surrounding of the office
after that we helped Sir Jesus to count the relief good and the afternoon we just wait the client
again to come until the time is over. And the last day of the third week of our immersion is
very lucky because we finished all the task that given to us and also I am very happy because
I helped ma'am Cristine to Cook our food for lunch, and the afternoon we just wait again
until the client welcome.
In our last week in MSWD, I am feel happy because,this is our last week in our work
immersion, I also feel sad because I miss all my teachers in our department office,this last
week of our work immersion we continue again doing to interview the couple for their
marriage until the time is over and the last day we listen to ma'am Nerry because she well
counsel the couple, and the afternoon we just simple celebrate the last day of our immersion
as our Thanks giving to them.

“
In just four weeks of staying at MSWD I learn so much things and experience what I
haven’t experience in my whole life. I also learn how to be more patient, and to communicate
with other people. And I learn too how to deal with their behavior.
On my first day as trainee, I felt nervous to commit mistake because I was just a
student. Ma’am Mercedes Pagulayan gave a brief orientation about her work in her office
after that she gave a task for us. Then, she and ma’am Haydee gave another work, we count
the OSY of every barangay and then record it. Second, are we helped the staff of DSWD
Regional to interview some of the senior citizen that is seeking financial assistance. Until we
finish our first week of staying at MSWD.
On the second week of our work immersion, we did not have much work to do.
Monday, we had just few clients that we interview and we gave test for their pre-marriage
counseling. Tuesday, we had just a couple of client that we interview and we gave test for the
pre-marriage counseling. And like also on the following days until we finish our 2nd weeks.
Third week of work immersion where there are few couples that arrive in the office
for the pre- marriage. Because ma’am Ched was absent that day we ask help from Sir Rino if
what we are going to do. And because Sir Rino was pity to the client he makes a way so that
they’re not going back for counseling.
Fourth week this is our last week of staying in MSWD, as usual we did what we
usually do in the office. Monday morning in that week ma’am Ched was get angry because of
some undisciplined that she observed that is not good to see, in the past few weeks. And
because of that she asked to us to go inside the office then, she gave us an activity to answer
it. After that she said that we’re going to explain our answers, after we explain it she gave a
brief advice to us about being disciplined and our limitation. Friday morning this is our last
day in our immersion. As I entered in the office we immediately arranged the chairs for our
clients that will undergo for counseling after a while the counseling was already started,
while the lecturer is ongoing. We just listening on their lectures about, what does marriage
mean is, family planning, and the rights of a child. After that we just been waited for another
client in our workplace until afternoon.

REFLECTION
“Experience is the most teachers of things” (Julius Ceasar).This quotes keep me reminding
me that I should be always grateful because I learn so much things once in my life. I realize
that having a work immersion was unforgettable experience and really good start to
experience how does it feel to be in work place. For the instance, I was very blessed to have
my work immersion in Municipal Social Welfare Development Office (MSWDO).
At first, I was really nervous to communicate with other people. I’m a quite person at
first, I never really talk up around with the people to whom I’m not comfortable with, unless
were so close. I thought that the staff there was rugged but I was wrong, they are so
approachable and communicative, ready to talk with and to impart the knowledge that they
have about working and other staff. So far, my experience in immersion was a pleasure and
fun at the same time. I can say that it is also somewhat boring because most of the time was
wasted we’ve done our task. Because there are seven work immersed including me. We were
that few so things to do are not divided. All you have to do is wait and be patient if there is
something that is assigned to you or if there is a couple of client to be interviewed. My most
memorable experience in work immersion was that, I interview and assist some of the senior
citizen that seeking financial assistance. It’s like you are a real MSWD worker, I really
enjoyed it.
After the work immersion, I discerned some things that will really be useful for mu
future. First, punctuality is very important because in this simple way, you can show how
serious you are to your future job, next would be honesty and sincerity because when it
comes to work place it’s actually has some way on your decisions; it can gain loyalty. Then,
consistency is especially important in work place because it will lead you to patience and
perseverance to the task that they’re going to give you, as well as the times that you’re just
waiting for the next task that will be given to you. I believe that if you are persistent you will
get it, if you are consistent you will keep it. Don’t stress out yourself for your work, if it is
not done yet, try to give a break then continue it, life goes on; breathe deeply, calm yourself
because calm people have better attitudes. Know your limitations because not all people can
deal with your personality, be a genuine and true person because being like that will makes
people happy to you. Always have a positive mind because positivity is next to tranquillity.
Surround yourself with a positive people because I believe that if you are always with
negative people who complain everything then you will also become a complainer and see
the world as negative as they do. Lastly, don’t be afraid to say what you want to say because
your opinion is a matter for everyone.
To sum up it all, I learn so much things and experience what I haven’t experience in
my whole life. I learn how to deal with their behaviour. I learn how to budget my time. I learn
to cooperate and my social life becomes wide because I’ve been together with so much
different kind of people. I am forever grateful for this experience that I will treasure the most.
