The Poseidon 2006

In the 1972 Screenplay by; Mark Protosevich S. the SS Poseidon

is based on the RMS Queen Mary. The SS Poseidon is a fictional
screen play by; Mark Protosevich S transatlantic ocean
liner that first appeared in the 1969 novel The Poseidon
Adventure by Paul Gallico and later in four films based on the
novel. The ship is named after the god of the seas in Greek
mythology. After a huge tidal wave capsizes a luxury liner in
the North Atlantic, individual survivors (Josh Lucas, Kurt
Russell, Jacinda Barrett) band together and traverse a hazardous
upside-down maze that they hope will take them to safety. As the
wrecked vessel fills with water, the survivors must call on
hidden strengths and skills to face the fight of their lives.
While this particular wave was produced by a hurricane, there is
a general consensus that rogue waves can form even in the
absence of severe weather patterns. That they could capsize a
cruise ship as large as Poseidon is typically dismissed by
cruise ship officers. Parts of the movie were filmed aboard
the RMS Queen Mary. The plot centers on the fictional SS
Poseidon, an aged luxury liner on her final voyage from New York
City to Athens before being sent to the scrapyard. After several
years of decreased profits for Cunard Line, Queen Mary was
officially retired from service in 1967. She left Southampton
for the last time on 31 October 1967 and sailed to the port of
Long Beach, California, United States, where she remains
permanently moored.

It is New Year's Eve, and over 2,000 passengers & crew are
ringing in the New Year aboard the huge cruise ship 'Poseidon'
when it capsizes on the open sea in the middle of the North
Atlantic Ocean! A small group of survivors find themselves
unlikely allies in a battle for their lives. Preferring to test
the odds alone, career gambler Dylan Johns ignores captain's
orders to wait below for possible rescue and sets out to find
his own way to safety. What begins as a solo mission soon draws
others, as Dylan is followed by a desperate father searching for
his daughter and her fiancée--a young couple who hours before
couldn't summon the courage to tell him they were engaged and
now face much graver challenges. Along the way they are joined
by a single mother and her wise-beyond-his-years son, an anxious
stowaway and a despondent fellow passenger who boarded the ship
not sure he wanted to live but now knows he doesn't want to die.
Determined to fight their way to the surface, the group sets off
through the disorienting maze of twisted steel in the upside-
down wreckage. As the unstable vessel rapidly fills with water
each must draw on skills and strengths they didn't even know
they possessed, fighting against time for their own survival and
for each other.

he stories of several people unfold on a magnificent ship,

Poseidon. Heroine Jennifer Ramsey, the 19-year-old daughter of a
patronizing former New York mayor, and her fiancé Christian are
finding it difficult to tell her father that they're engaged. A
single mother and her son Conor run in (literally) to Dylan
Johns, a professional gambler and hit it off right away. Elena
has agreed to be a steward's entertainment for the cruise if he
takes her to New York to see her injured brother. Architect
Richard Nelson is drinking himself into a stupor after his
boyfriend ditched him. When a rogue wave hits and the ship
overturns, the captain tells the surviving passengers that the
ballroom is an air bubble and that they will be safe until help
arrives. Dylan isn't so sure and sets off to look for an avenue
of escape. Conor asks Dylan to take he and his mother. Richard
knows that the boat cannot stay afloat upside down. Ramsey
insists on going with to find his daughter in the nightclub. The
five people take the steward Marco to help them find their way
to the bottom/top. In the nightclub, most are dead after being
electrocuted by the numerous lights. Survivors are Jennifer,
Elena, Lucky Larry and Christian, who is caught under a light.
The two groups of adventurers converge and have to fight fire,
electricity, tight spaces, elevator shafts and most of all,
water.
While watching this Movie alone seeing people drawn to water
with intense cold that make them starving and weaken while they
have plan to survive this, so even me watching this movie makes
me feel also like I was in their survival or situation. But
makes sense their using a degital computer to make some special
effects in making movie like their was a great event by making
their movie the screenplay by Mark.He manage to finish the movie
that making he movie more effective to those people who related
to it. Poseidon (fictional ship) In the 1972 film the

Comparing this movie to others would have a great difference on

making movie some of them are copyrights by author same ideas. I
compared this in the movie in titled Geostorm the intense event
and phenomenom that making feel excite and surprise and what
happen next, The Geostorm movie is like a poseidon the
screenplay looks different but the effects and sound effects
like same and the event were also like same but the different on
the Geostorm is in space were the controller were operated and
the events were extreamly dangerous to happen in real life. The
movie was good and makes the people say if what happen next if
this world coming to an end.
