You are going to see images of five cities and their landmarks. Write a
paragraph describing each city and country it belongs and the landmark shown.
Use the vocabulary from the box for the descriptions. The first one is done for

New York is a big city in the


United States (North America).
It takes thousand of visitors
every year. The city has a
population of around 8 million
people. There is a lot to see
and do in New York. You can
visit the Central Park, the
Metropolian museum and
Time’s Square. In the picture
you can see the Statue of
Liberty, a monumet built
between 1875 and 1986. It is
93 meters tall. The statue is

Hudson River.
Rome is an Italian city of 2 857

Lazio region and Italy. It is the
most populous municipality in
Italy and the fourth most
populous city in the European

populous city in Australia and

million.
It is located in southeastern
Australia, on the shores of the
wide bay of Sydney (Port
Jackson).

Opera House is a performing arts
center in several places in
Sydney Harbor in Sydney, New
Sydney (Australia) – The Sydney Opera South Wales, Australia. It is one

distinctive buildings of the 20th
century.

performances a year, attended

Edinburgh Castle is an ancient
fortress erected on a rock of

that form the Royal Mile. The
castle is open to visitors and is

attraction in Scotland.
Three of its sides are protected
by steep cliffs, and access to the
castle is limited to a steep slope
on the eastern side of the castle.
Dubai is an emirate city of the
United Arab Emirates known for
its luxurious trade, ultramodern
architecture and lively nightlife,

Khalifa is the tallest building in
the world with a height of 828
meters. More than 12,000 people
from 30 countries have
participated in the construction of
the building. He was previously
known as Burj Dubai (Dubai
Tower). The construction of the
Dubai (United Arab Emirates) – The Burj Burj Khalifa began on September
Khalifa 21, 2004 and ended on January
4, 2010, more than a year later
than planned. The skyscraper
stands out for having a large
number of residential floors,
