6 SHAREPORT ACCESS
1 ROUTER SETUP
1. From your laptop, go to wireless utility to
display available wireless networks and
select the Wi-Fi name of device to
connect. (By default Wi-Fi name is
dlink_DIR-506L ) In default settings there
is no password for the wireless.

2. Once you are connected to Device
through Wi-Fi, Open your web browser,
and type http://192.168.0.1 in the
address bar to begin the Setup Wizard.
3. Follow the on-screen instruction to
complete the setup
4. Click Next to continue.
5. Choose the operation mode in which
you want to configure the router.
We will show you Router Mode
configuration.
1 ROUTER SETUP
6. Select the type of connection which your
ISP has given you. Most cable modem
connections use DHCP and most DSL
modem connections use PPPoE.
Note: If you are not sure which connection
type you use or what settings to enter,
contact your Internet service provider.
Once you put the required information
click Next and it will take you to
wireless settings.
7. You can change the wireless network
name (SSID) as per your choice.
8. To protect your wireless network from
unauthorized access, enable the wireless
security and assign the wireless password
for your network and click Next.
9. It will show you the Setup Summary, click
on the Save button to save your
configuration. Router will reboot to
activate the new settings and you will be
disconnected form the router. After
Reboot, use the new settings you created
to reconnect to the Router.
1. Connect to the router wirelessly and
login into it from web browser as already
shown in step 1 and 2 in router
configuration and follow the on-screen
instruction to complete the setup.
Click Next to continue.
2. Select the Wi-Fi Hotspot Mode and
click Next.
3. It will show you the available wireless
networks, select the Wi-Fi hotspot to
connect to the internet with and
press select.
4. Put the Wi-Fi password of the
network to which you are connecting
and click Next.
2 WI-FI HOTSPOT MODE
5. Now, configure your Wireless LAN settings,
you can change your wireless network
name (SSID) and can secure your wireless
network by enabling the wireless security
and assigning password for your wireless.
Click Next once settings are over.
6. Next screen It will show you the Setup
Summary, click on the Save button to save
your configuration. Router will reboot to
activate the new settings and you will be
disconnected form the router. After
Reboot, use the new settings you created
to reconnect to the Router.
3 REPEATER MODE
1. Connect to the router wirelessly and login
into it from web browser as already shown
in step 1 and 2 in router configuration and
follow the on-screen instruction to
complete the setup.
Click Next to continue.
2. Select Repeater mode and click Next.
3. It will show you the available wireless
networks in your environment. Select the
wireless network which you want to
connect and click Select.
4. Put the Wi-Fi password of the network to
which you are connecting and click Next.

5. Now, configure your Wireless LAN settings,
you can change your wireless network
name (SSID) and can secure your wireless
network by enabling the wireless security
and assigning password for your wireless.
Click Next once settings are over.

4 ACCESS POINT MODE
1. Connect to the router wirelessly and
login into it from web browser as already
shown in step 1 and 2 in router
configuration and follow the on-screen
instruction to complete the setup.
Click Next to continue.
2. Select AP Mode and click Next to continue.
3. Now on next screen configure your
wireless settings. You can change the
wireless network name (SSID) as per your
choice, also you can secure your wireless
network from unauthorised access by
enabling the wireless security and by
assigning the wireless password. Once
configuration is done click on Next button.
4. Next screen It will show you the Setup
Summary, click on the Save button to save
your configuration. Router will reboot to
activate the new settings and you will be
disconnected form the router. After
Reboot, use the new settings you created
to reconnect to the Router.
5 3G - 4G MODE
1. Connect to the router wirelessly and login
into it from web browser as already shown
in step 1 and 2 in router configuration and
follow the on-screen instruction to
complete the setup.
Click Next to continue.
2. Select 3G/4G Mode and click Next.
3. If your SIM card is locked then put the Pin
Code for the SIM card. Select reconnect
mode auto and click Next.
4. Configure your wireless network settings as
per your requirement. You can change
wireless Network name (SSID) as per your
choice also protect your wireless network
from unauthorised access by enabling the
wireless security and assigning wireless
password for the same.
5 3G - 4G MODE
5. Next screen will show you the
configuration summary of the device.
Click on Save to save the new
configuration. Router will reboot to
activate the new settings and you will be
disconnected form the router. After
Reboot, use the new settings you created
to reconnect to the Router.
Manual configuration for 3G/4G
If you found any problem in the
connection then please follow the
Manual configuration as shown below.
1. Connect to the router wirelessly and
login into it from web browser as already
shown in step 1 and 2 in router
configuration and follow the on-screen
instruction to complete the setup.
Click on the Cancel button and you will
be redirect to manual configuration.
2. Go to Setup -> Internet and Click on
manual Internet Connection Setup.
5 3G - 4G MODE
5. Select my internet connection as 3G/4G
and do the settings as instructed below.
Dial-Up Profile: Manual
Country: India
Telecom: If your telecom exists in the list select it Otherwise select Others.
3G/4G Network: Select WCDMA/HSPA for 3G Select CDMA2000/EV-DO for CMDA.
Rest of the settings depends on which
type and service provider’s dongle you
are using.
6. Once the changes are completed click
on the Save Settings to save the
configuration after which router will
reboot. Once the router finishes the
reboot connect to the router.
7. Below are the 3G/4G settings for the few
ISP which are commonly used. IF any of
the ISP information is missing then kindly
call to your ISP’s toll free number and get
the required information.

6 SHAREPORT ACCESS
1. Connect to device wirelessly as shown above.
2. Login into the device with its default IP
address http://192.168.0.1
3. Go to Setup -> Storage
4. Select the checkbox of Enable sharePort
Web Access. By default Admin user exist
with both Read/Write access.
You can create more 10 users and give
particular user with the Read/Write access
of particular folders .
5. Once the settings are done click on Save
settings to take the changes take effects.
6. Once it is done, you will get the SharePort
Web Access Link on the bottom of the page.
6 SHAREPORT ACCESS
7. After clicking on the link, It will redirect
you to login page of the shareport and
you can login with the any User that you
have created.
8. Put the username and password of the
user with which you want to login and
you can access your storage device.
9. You can also use the D-Link SharePort
Mobile Application on android based
smartphones or on iphone , ipad to access
the storage. You can download this App
from play store in android OS and from
apple store in iphone/ipad.
