Abstract
Who kill King Birendra?
Introduction
The Nepalese royal massacre occurred on 1 June 2001, at a house on the grounds of the Narayanhity Royal
Palace, the residence of the Nepalese monarchy. Ten members of the family were killed by during a party or
monthly reunion dinner of the royal family in the house. The dead included King Birendra of Nepal and Queen
Aishwarya[1]

Literature Review
According to Darshi Lamteyli Magar "In the last Friday the Royal family member enjoy in the party. In 19 th jestha
2058 there was also party organized. Iam also in the part as a guard . I saw Paras Shah out from the party. After
some time he come with some men they wear dress and mask as like as Prince Dipendra . I listen the sound of 7
firing in the room of Dipendra. Then I listen the sound of firing from the party hall. Then I am very afraid and hide in
garden. After some time Paras Shah come out and tell we should go hospital. I know if we want the real killer we ask
the question with Paras Shah."

Research Methodology
Eyewitness reports and an official investigation (carried by a two-man committee made up of the Chief
Justice of the Supreme Court Keshav Prasad Upadhaya and the Speaker of the House of Representatives
Taranath Ranabhat),confirmed that Dipendra was the gunman. A detailed investigation is impossible as the
"Tribhuvan Sadan" (the building where the massacre occurred) was demolished by the Gyanendra
government.[2]

 Crown Prince (later HM King) Dipendra, elder son of Birendra and Aishwarya.

 Prince Nirajan, younger son of Birendra and Aishwarya.

 Princess Shruti, Kumar Gorakh's wife and only daughter to Birendra and Aishwarya.

 (Prince) Dhirendra, King Birendra's brother who had renounced his title.[3]

Result
. The Nepalese royal massacre occurred on 1 June 2001, at a house in the grounds of the
Narayanhity Royal Palace, then the residn ence of the Nepalese monarchy,under the control of
the authority of the then government declared that, when the heir to the throne, Prince Dipendra,
was blamed of killing nine members of his family and himself. However, the majority of citizens in
Nepal condemned and disapproved the press conference issued, which referred to the Late King
Dipendra as a mass murderer. The dead included King Birendra of Nepal and Queen Aiswarya.
Prince Dipendra became de jure King of Nepal upon his father's death and died whilst in a coma
three days after the act; however there are claims that Dipendra was already dead before being
declared as the King. Gyanendra then became king.[4]

Conclusion

Almost all of the Royal family members were killed in the massacre except Gyanendra Shah, Birendra's
younger brother. Dipendra was proclaimed king but died a few days later of self-inflicted gunshot.[5]
