Barbs Cordero has several reasons on why she decides to go for a polyamorous

relationship: first, she can't choose between Greg and Michaelangelo since she enjoys the

company and affection she receives from both; secondly, when she discovered that Yumi was

pregnant, she decided to support her in taking care of their unborn child; finally, she views love

as limitless, and that the heart never becomes full, which meant that there is no satisfaction in a

singular commitment.

How do we know what love is? Where do we get it from? -- “love” is defined in various

ways. Polyamory relationship makes the concept of love (that I know) almost meaningless,

hence, I am not in favor with Barbs’ choice. This kind of relationship seems to undermine the

nature of the singular commitment. In my opinion, if this love is divided among others, partners

can’t fully love one another. If what is supposed to be intimate is shared with others, there can be

no true intimacy. The partners involved may say "I'll love you, but on the side I'll have a

relationship or two; and add to that, I could have several relationships on the side.” That's not all

that different from a hook - up culture where every night of the week you have sex with another

person. In fact, polyamory is all about lust. Nothing is loving about it. Barbs’ and her partners’

definition of “love” is unusual in a conservative society that we have, or maybe we may think

that it’s not love that what she and her partners are looking for in the first place either, but a

temporary relationship that can only satisfy the desires of their flesh for a short period of time

since there’s no foundation at all.
