What is

Salvation?
liberation of
man from sin
and its
consequences.
What is
revelation?
God’s
communication
with man
God reveals Himself
through:
Creation
Holy Scriptures
Holy Tradition
Apostolic Succession
The Church
Sacred Scripture is the
speech of God as it is put
down in writing under the
breath of the Holy Spirit.
Holy Tradition
transmits in its entirety
the Word of God
which has been
entrusted to the
apostles by Christ the
Lord and the Holy
Spirit.
The Church to whom the
transmission and
interpretation of
Revelation is entrusted
does not derive certainty
from the scriptures alone.
Both Scripture and
Tradition must be
accepted and honored.
Salvation comes from
God alone; but because
we receive the life of faith
through the Church, she is
our mother. She is our
teacher in the Faith.
The Word of God
which is the power of
God for Salvation to
everyone who has faith,
is set forth in a most
wonderful way in the
writings of the New
Testament which hand on
the ultimate truth of
God’s revelation.
What is faith?
pistis (Greek)
fides (Latin)
In the Old
Testament, the
Hebrew means
essentially
“steadfastness”
It comes to mean
“faithfulness”.
and “fidelity”.
Faith is man’s
response to God’s
revelation.
True faith is
accompanied by
prayer and good
works.
