Document Development Exposition: Instructions and Usability Memo

ENGL 2116

Explain in detail your document’s development from planning to finish, describing your
challenges, how you overcame them, and what you learned.

Planning
First, our own group analyzed the purpose of the web page design and the who are users. In
addition, through the simulation test of the class, the inadequacies and advantages of the design of
the tutorial on the website. After that, the team members ask the user to answer the questionnaire
to collect the user's suggestions and opinions, then combine those with team members' own
understanding of the website to write the changes that the website needs to make.

First Draft (for peer editing)

Refer to the examples provided to list the outlines we need, and then the division of labor is
responsible for each part. I am responsible for analyzing test objectives and parts of screenshots of
websites, mainly to list the purpose of the website and the purpose of this test. In addition, I am also
responsible for some screenshots to show the changes that the site needs to make.

Second Draft (for your packet)

The team members integrate our respective information and check whether there is any
improvement, mainly focusing on whether the logic of each section of memo is clear and
straightforward, and whether the statement is fluent. The design style that everyone wants is not
the same, and the team members need to go through a long discussion to come up with the design
ideas that everyone thinks is most appropriate.

Final Draft (for your portfolio)

Add more details on the original to explain the parts that were not well understood before; unify the
design style of the full text; and correct the spelling in the article and the inappropriate use of
grammar. This assignment made me understand that the design style that was only discussed by
unprofessional students could not meet the professional needs, and that review requires non-
member participation to understand whether ordinary people can understand out memo.
