Interculturalidad

Andrei Rosero Hernandez

1. Did we stereotype some of these people? How?

I don’t think so, because we chose the guilty one because of his job, experience and the time that
he has been working in the restaurant. In any moment we thought of somebody for where is he
from or what is his background or what is his religious.

2. What sorts of things cause us to stereotype people?

First of all, in my opinion we shouldn’t do it, but of Couse we do and it is because when you meet
people from different cultures and countries, and you see that some stereotype are true you think
most of the people from that country and culture are like him, but of course that’s not a good idea.

3. How does it feel to be stereotyped?

It doesn’t feel good, because its like if you are part of something bad and not good for other people.
Of course, some people take that like a joke, but other people get really offend when somebody
does it.

4. Are stereotypes accurate or do they cause us to believe things that aren’t based on facts?

In my humble opinion, I think at the past it was really common and based on facts because the
culture of the countries was really different and rooted. But nowadays as you can see the
interculturality has been a big factor helping the people to be different compare to the past people.
In other words, at the past stereotypes were based on facts, but nowadays are based in the same
facts, the difference is the people isn’t the same as the past.
