GENERAL POLICIES AND REGULATIONS

1. Every pupil shall bear in mind that the school/formulates rules and regulations

to:

a. Help him/her attain self-discipline;

b. Impress upon him/her the importance of law and order

c. Teach him/her to live by the meaning and ideals of justice

d. Protect him/her and the good name of school

2. Discipline based on fear of punishment is no discipline at all. Rather, it should

be based on the respect for oneself and the right of others; on the knowledge

and understanding of duties each and must perform on respect for duly

constituted authorities.

3. Interest and pride in the school should prompt the pupil to regard school

property with care and to keep the buildings and the campus clean.

4. Corporal punishment will not be tolerated.

5. No pupils shall be at school campus at 5:30 PM. Only pupils with written

permission are allowed to remain inside the school premises for their practice

beyond 5:30 PM with supervision of their club adviser.


6. A pupil has the right to due process in the investigation of disciplinary cases

according to established school procedures.

a. A report is submitted in writing to the Office of Guidance Teacher

stating the nature and the circumstances of the offense, including

any evidence and other materials relevant to the case.

b. The Guidance Teacher then conducts an investigation of the case.

c. When seriousness of the case calls for parental notification, parent

will be duly notified.

d. After the investigation, the Guidance Teacher together with the Child

Protection Committee applies or recommends appropriate

intervention/disciplinary actions.

7. The selection of participants to athlete/academic competition shall include the

following criteria:

7.1 Possesses good character.

7.2 Has no failing grade in any subject.

7.3 Has complete attendance (e.g. no tardiness, no unexcused

absences)

8. Suspension of Classes (DepEd Order No. 43, s. 2012)

8.1 Typhoon

8.1.1 Suspension of classes in cases of typhoon and

calamities

Signal No. 1- Kinder

Signal No. 2- Kinder and Elementary Grade


8.1.2 Regardless of typhoon signal classes by the local chief

executives in their capacity as Chairpersons of the Local

Risk Reduction and Management (LDRRMC) when,

a. Prolonged flooding occurs in the school area

b. Other calamities such as volcano eruption and

earthquake have occurred.

9. Opening and Closing Gate Policy

The gate will be closed at 8:00 AM and 1:30 PM. Parents who will come

beyond these specified times will not be allowed to enter campus.

Opening of gate will be at 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM.

RULES OF CONDUCT

Every pupil, upon enrolment, accepts the obligation to comply with polivies

and regulations of the school.

A. Identification

Every pupil is required to wear his/her ID card at all times while on the

campus. If lost, the parents will be the one to reproduce another ID. Tampering

invalidates the ID card. Borrowing or lending of ID card is prohibited.

B. School Uniform

Every pupil is encouraged to wear suggested school uniform with dignity

and pride.
1. Daily Uniforms for Boys

1.1 White polo shirt/T-shirt

1.2 Khaki/Brown Shorts/Pants

1.3 Black shoes with white or black socks.

2. Daily Uniform for Girls

2.1 White Blouse/T-shirt

2.2 Pink Skirt

2.3 Black shoes with white socks

3. BSP/GSP Uniform – during scouting activities

4. P.E. Uniform (Optional)

4.1 White shirt

4.2 Blue jogging pants

C. Grooming

Pupils are expected to be well – groomed at all times and observe the

following:

1. For Boys

1.1 Have presented hair cut (at least one (1) inch above the ear

and three (3) inches above the collar line)

1.2 No earrings, no highlights/hair dying


2. For Girls

2.1 Female pupils are strongly discouraged to have a fashionable

haircut (undercuts, hair dying, using of hair extension and

bangs should not cover the face)

2.2 Female pupils are not allowed to wear make-up (lipstick,

eyeliners, eye shadows and blush on) and nail polish.

2.3 Loud accessories (e.g dangling earrings, bangles, anklets,

necklace and the like) are not allowed.

D. School Attendance, Absences and Tardiness

1. Tardiness

A pupil who is not able to attend flag ceremony is considered

late/tardy.

2. Absences

A pupil previously absent must present a letter explaining reason(s)

for the absence, to his/her adviser/subject. It must be duly signed

by parent/guardian.

E. BEHAVIORAL EXPECTATION FROM THE PUPILS

It is assured that a pupil who seeks admissions at Olongapo City

Elementary School is willing to abide by the rules and regulations are set to

develop in the student’s sense of responsibility, integrity, personal discipline,


inner freedom, and concern for and involvement in the welfare of the school

and community.

1. Before coming to school

a. He/she wears uniform, ID and properly groomed and tidy.

b. Brings all his/her needed things for the day’s activities. Avoid bringing

prohibited book, magazine or other things in school.

c. Leaves the house early so as to arrive before the official school time.

2. Before going to class

a. Enters the school as soon as he/she arrives, he/she does not loiter

outside

b. Shows respect to guard, show his/her ID and obeys any other

instruction.

c. Waits quietly for the bell to ringing in a convenient place where

he/she could study and or do some last-minute preparation for

his/her class.

3. During the Flag Ceremony

a. When the bell rings he/she proceeds to the designated area of the

class to which he/she belongs.

b. Join the line quietly. Observes proper distance and stand properly

while in the line.

c. Avoid talking and doing unnecessary movements while waiting for

the ceremony to begin.


d. Sing in unison and participate wholeheartedly in the singing of

PAMBANSANG AWIT, DEPED REGION III HYMN, HIMNO NG

OLONGAPO. Recite the Pledge: PANATANG MAKABAYAN,

PANUNUMPA SA KATAPATAN SA WATAWAT NG PILIPINAS correctly

as befitting a true Filipino.

e. Listen to announcements attentively and pay respect to others.

f. Maintain good behavior throughout the ceremony.

g. Late comers should stop and stay at the area beside the entrance

gate path walk while the flag ceremony is going on.

4. In going to the classroom

a. Joins his/her class in going to their classroom orderly without

breaking the line, passing through the right way.

b. Avoid pushing, shouting and making noise while going to your

classrooms.

c. Fall in line properly at the corridor and waits for his turn to enter the

classroom.

d. Goes to his/her certain quietly and puts down his things carefully.

5. At Start of the class

a. Seek guidance Almighty by solemnly joining the class opening prayer.

b. Show respect to teacher by greeting him/her properly.


c. Take his/her seat immediately after being told 10 do so and listen to

announcements and reminders given by the teacher

d. Get his/her learning materials, textbooks, pens and prepares for class

activity.

e. If the teacher is not yet around, he/she waits patiently and quietly for

the teacher arrival.

6. During class

a. Listen attentively during discussion of the lesson.

b. Actively participate in recitation, group work, board work, seatwork

and other activities.

c. Show respect to his/her classmates by listening to their answer while

reciting.

d. Does not give side comments, avoid whispering to his seatmates

and laugh at others mistake.

e. Stand properly when being called to recite and talk clearly and speak

loudly enough for everybody to his responses.

f. Avoid using gadgets such as cellphones, headsets, net book, tablets

and CD/DVD plays unless required by the teachers as part of the

lesson/activity.

g. Refrain from eating, chewing, walking around, prompting or

disturbing anyone.

h. Does not leave the room without asking permission from teacher.
i. Understand that the school is his/her second home and that he/she

nurtures an atmosphere of love, peace, joy and productivity in class.

7. During Recess and Lunch Break

a. Fall in line and wait for ones turn in buying foods/snacks.

b. Observe good eating habits.

c. Throw wrappers and peelings into garbage cans and segregate

waste materials.

d. When buying at the canteen always respect the canteen employees.

8. During Assemblies and Programs

a. Go to the program venue promptly and orderly.

b. Speak in low tone while waiting for the program to start.

c. Avoid whispering, discussing, talking and using cellphones while

listening to speakers or watching a performance.

d. Show refinement and self-discipline, applaud promptly and properly

at the right time.

e. Refrain from yelling, booing, shouting, stamping and laughing

boisterously.

f. Keep the place clean and orderly before leaving.

g. Leave the hall/venue quietly,

9. During games/sports activities


a. Come on time for the activity properly dressed occupying

designated line formation.

b. Behave accordingly during the opening program or any

ceremony for that purpose.

c. Applaud and avoid making bad signs, shouting or laughing

loudly.

d. Respect the opposing team and its followers/superiors, as

well as the officials of the games.

e. Leave the place of activity in an orderly in an orderly manner

and see to it that the place is well kept as before.

10. At the Reading Corner

a. Enter and leave the reading center quietly.

b. Observe silence at all times. Chatting, littering, sleeping,

eating and other actions contrary to the purpose of the

reading center are strictly prohibited.

c. Return books, materials, magazines and other reading

materials in place after using them.

d. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness inside the reading center

arrange chairs and tables before leaving.

11. At the Comfort Rooms and Lavatories

a. Use properly the comfort rooms and lavatories.


b. Never play on faucet and do not put trash on lavatories to

avoid clogging.

c. As courtesy to next user, flush the toilet bowl after using.

d. Avoid vandalism.

12. At the School Clinic

a. Ask for the assistance of School Health Coordinator politely.

b. Observe/follow school clinic policy at all times.

c. Only patient pupil should stay in the school clinic.
