OUTLINE WITH CHAPTER-BY-CHAPTER SUMMARY

OTHER TIPS:
• Premise/Synopsis/Outline should be written in 3rd person, present tense

• Synopsis formula: Incident (Story Advancement) + Reaction (Color) = Decision

(Story Advancement) (from Jane Friedman)

• Tell the story, don’t interpret or explain

• This is not for the reader to see. This is not back cover copy. This is what actually
happens in your book.
