DISTRIBUTED POWER SYSTEM

In distributed power system, the electrical energy generation and storage is performed by a vereity of
small, grid connected devices referred to as distributed energy resources. Conventional power stations
such as coal fired, gas and nuclear powered plants, as well as hydroelectric dams and large scale solar
power stations, are centralized and often required electric energy to be transmitted over large
distances. By contrast, distributed systems are decentralized, modular and more flexible technologies
that are located close to the load centres. The common denominator among all the DPS is the use of
power electronics as a mean to interface source and load. These distributed power systems can’t be
designed as whole, but it can be designed as several subsystems. The subsystem is integrated to form
a whole distributed power system. One of the most important problems involved in the design of DPS
is the instability caused due to the system integration. Impedance specification is very effective
technique for adding new load to the DPS and is a convenient technique for stability analysis.
