Introduction

Like any other crowded urban space in the world, Tondo, Manila contains thousands of
unemployed and underemployed individuals who are also facing a serious problem of poor waste
management which poses a huge threat to their health most especially the children’s. With these two
pressing issues at hand, *insert name of our company* is advocating itself to spark a change in these
suburban areas.

Company

The “company” is a start-up social enterprise which aims to generate jobs for those living in
crowded urban spaces such as Tondo through the production of polyester products like shirts from
recycled plastic bottles. It envisions to provide an economically and environmentally sustainable
livelihood to its partner community members enabling them to acquire life’s basic necessities through its
ABC Business Model.

Business Model

Automated

‘Company’ will create Plastic Advantage Cards which can be availed by the people within
Tondo, Manila. These cards will contain the cardholders’ account which will give benefits that could help
them earn money through different mechanisms. ‘Company’ will provide an automated truck where the
cardholders can deposit plastic bottles. A plastic bottle, regardless of its size, will turn into a point and
through a swipe of the cardholder’s Plastic Advantage Card on the automated machine customized on the
truck, the cardholder will be informed of his earned points.

Bank

The earned points inside the card can be exchanged into cash through the “Bank” which will be in
the vicinity of Tondo. Two points will be equivalent into one peso so through this, the cardholders will be
capable of earning money. The bank teller will renew the balance of the cardholder’s Plastic Advantage
Card after an amount of earned points was deducted from the withdrawal.

Cooperative

The plastic bottles accumulated inside the automated truck will be transported to one of the
nearby local factories that turn plastic bottles to polyester cloth. After processing the plastic bottles into
polyester cloth, another truck will fetch the polyester and transfer the material to the ‘Company’s “Sewing
Center”. The cardholders are the only ones that can be employed as tailors and seamstresses. These
workers will then use the raw polyester cloth in making shirts through the use of sewing machines. These
products will later on be marketed in the clothing industry.
