Reaction Paper: “Acapellago”

Acapellago is one of the most influential pop A capella groups in the Philippines. This
group is very astonishing the harmony of the music is perfect. They played a mixed genre and
songs including, Ain’t no other man by Christina Aguilera, Side to side by side by Ariana
Grande, Conga by Gloria Estefan, Mas Que Nada by Sitti Navarro, Tala by Sarah Geronimo,
Malaya by Moira Dela Torre, Hasula by Kurt Fick, and Queen of the Night by Whitney Houston,
in the first part of their repertoire and Tim Sung Ka by Regine Velasquez, Kathang isip by the
Ben&Ben, kahit ayaw mo na by This Band, Buwan By Juan Karlos Labajo, Safe and sound by
Taylor Swift, Da Coconut by the Smokey Mountain, No more tears by Barbra Streisand, Music
of your heart and lastly, Can’t stop the feeling by Justin Timberlake are their second part
repertoire. Also, the stage lighting and the stage design are very simple, but it compliments with
the costumes and performance of the Acapellago.

All throughout the show, I enjoyed it. Even though I’m not really into the A capella but
when I heard them for the first time performing and singing in Luce Auditorium, I was just amazed.
Their voices are amazing. Their stage present is very entertaining, I like the idea that they have a
“challenge” thingy for the audience. They truly are one of the prides in the Philippines. And the
fact that they compete and represent the Philippines in other countries or worldwide is very
appreciable and disdainful.
