DRAFT OUTLINE

The research undertaken deals with an intriguing aspect of the voting behaviour
of individuals. It is an effort to understand the link between media and voting
decisions. We are trying to examine whether individuals depend upon various
media and social media sources for news related to politics and elections? Do
they find these sources useful? What is their trust level on the information
generated by these sources? To what extent does information generated through
various media channels help the voters to make an informed decision? Are they
satisfied and content with the information that they get? Is the information
biased? The main objective is therefore to explore the realms of voting
behaviour in the light of information received through various media channels
including social media, newspapers, magazines and other related sources. This
will help us to analyse the effectiveness, efficiency and the transparency of
electoral news. An attempt will also be made to make an analysis based on
different gender, age, income, and occupation. Moreover, it will be interesting
to determine whether there is any significant difference in the voting behaviour
between those who make use of media channels to come at a voting decision
and those who do not. Furthermore, which source is the most popular hub for
political and election related knowledge among the voters is another enthralling
point. Keeping in mind all these objectives, we have prepared a draft
questionnaire. This questionnaire, hence, serves the purpose of our study.
