The effectiveness
of this type of bilingualschooling,with strongcurricularaffirma-
tion of two languagesand culturesthroughoutstudents'schooling(K-12) taught
throughan interactive/experiential curriculum,may havestrongpotential.Students
in sucha programare challengedto move beyondthe narrowconceptions of educa-
tion as knowledgetransmissionto educationas preparationfor the global cross-
culturalawarenessand problem-solving skillsneededfor the twenty-firstcentury.
