GENERAL ASPECTS OF FIRST AID

DEFINITION

THE FIRST AID IS ALL THOSE MEASURES OR ACTIONS CARRIED OUT BY THE ASSISTANT, IN THE
SAME PLACE WHERE THE ACCIDENT HAS OCCURRED AND WITH PRACTICALLY IMPROVISED
MATERIAL, UNTIL THE ARRIVAL OF SPECIALIZED STAFF. FIRST AID IS NOT A MEDICAL
TREATMENT. THEY ARE EMERGENCY ACTIONS TO REDUCE THE EFFECTS OF INJURY AND
STABILIZE THE STATE OF THE INJURED. THIS LAST IS WHAT GIVES US THE IMPORTANCE OF
FIRST AID BECAUSE OF THIS FIRST ACTION IT HAS TO DEPEND IN GREAT DEGREE THE GENERAL
STATE AND PATIENT’S CONDITION.
