Thank you for considering my application for Transition to Practice Nurse Residency. I am
enthusiastic for this last leg of my journey to reaching my life-long goal of becoming a
licensed nurse. As a young girl of eight, I watched my nephew fight a battle with leukemia.
From his bedside, I watched skilled, compassionate nurses provide loving care to him and our
family through this difficult and unexpected time. I knew then, that becoming a nurse was in
my future. Throughout my experiences at different hospitals, I have found myself most
intrigued and engaged working with families and fellow nurses in the emergency department
as well as the intensive care units. I have performed well in the hospital, interactive simulations
and in my didactic courses, which focused on these departments.

As a nursing student, I am quick to jump into situations and am constantly asking questions in
order to learn all that I can in every opportunity. I enjoy working with my nurses and have
received positive feedback from those with whom I have worked closely in providing patient
care.

I would be honored to learn from the exceptional nursing staff at your facility and improve my
clinical skillset while participating in the residency program. I appreciate your consideration
