ABSTRACT

Cervical cancer is a health problem for women that needs serious attention.
Cervical cancer or cervical cancer is a malignant tumor that grows inside the
cervix or cervix, which is a cancer that occurs in the uterine cervix, an area in the
female reproductive organ which is the door to the uterus that is located between
the uterus and copulation. The incidence of cervical cancer can be suppressed by
making primary prevention efforts such as early detection of cervical cancer
through pap smear or IVA. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors
associated with early detection of cervical cancer in women of childbearing age in
the work area of the Palembang Campus Health Center. This type of research is
desktiptif analytic Cross-Sectional approach. Sampling is done by non probability
sampling techniques with a purposive sampling approach. The sample size is 30
respondents. Data collection is done by questionnaire. Data were analyzed by Chi-
square test formula. The results showed that the factors that influenced the
examination of cervical cancer were education (p = 0.001), knowledge (p =
0,000), attitudes (p = 0.001), family support (p = 0.001). and there was no
influence between age (p = 0.222), and support from health workers (p = 1,000). It
is hoped that women of childbearing age will increase awareness to do an early
examination of cervical cancer to detect early cervical cancer.
And it is expected that the Palembang Campus Health Center will further improve
health education activities on prevention of cervical cancer by health workers to
WUS with counseling and counseling in community activities that are mostly
