Lovely Professional University (LPU) believes that professional enhancement inputs
supplement the academic curriculum and help prepare students to participate actively in
the professional community. Such inputs also enhance practical knowledge and awareness
of students either in general or in a specific area of training.

Centre For Professional Enhancement (CPE) is an endeavor of Lovely Professional University,

which aims not only at improving the existing skills and competencies of the students but
also acquiring new skill sets which are relevant to meet the demands of the industry. The
students get the inputs in terms of Logical Reasoning, Aptitude, Verbal Ability and Soft Skills.

CPE has been very active in organizing domain specific workshops for giving the students
hand on experience. Professional development opportunities range from a single workshop
to a semester-long academic course, to services offered by a medley of different
professional development providers and varying widely with respect to the philosophy,
content, and format of the learning experiences. These inputs when given to engineering
students add flavour to their candidature when they become industry ready.

Introduction
The Statement of Purpose is the single most important part of your application that will tell the
admissions committee who you are, what has influenced your career path so far, your professional

interests and where you plan to go .

As the name signifies, the Statement of Purpose is your personal statement about who you are, what
has influenced your career path so far, your professional interests and where you plan to go from
here. It need not be a bald statement of facts; several successful SoPs address these questions
through anecdotes, stories or by describing their hero. But whether your SoP is subtle or to the point, it
must be well written to be successful.

Objective

The workshop intends to help students to better orgnize their ideas and equip them with a
clear understanding of Statement of Purpose, thereby contribute to their preparedeness for
higher studies, to face the industry and the competitive world.

 Centre For Professional Enhancement strongly advocates experiential learning and constructivist.
The workshop intends to integrate these pedagogies in every possible way.

Resource Person

Anudeep Kaur Bedi is an Asst. Professor and HOD of Verbal Ability III at
Centre For Professional Enhancement. She is considerate and passionate
teacher and never fails to go an extra mile to help her students and her
sessions are effectively engaging with lots of interesting activities

She has been associated with Lovely Professional University since 2008. She
has specialized in the BEC courses, Functional English, Elective English and
Communication Skills courses. She holds a Masters in Arts and Masters of
Education from Guru Nanak Dev University ,Amritsar

She believes in’ Gardens are not made while sitting in Shade.’
