Description: 10" blade. Natural metal finish. F. Herder & Son, Solingen. Wooden grips. 1916 (16)
dated on flat edge (see an example in the last picture). Steel scabbard, little paint. Overall good
condition. Very similar to later 98k bayonets.
Above: F. Herder & Son, Solingen, but yours doesn't have the Regiment/Division numbers.
Above: This example was made in 1917 by Gebruder Heller of Marienthal. Like yours it shows the
flat steel plate on top of the handle that acts as a “flash hider”. It also carries the Royal Cypher of
Kaiser Wilhelm II of Prussia, as does yours; see picture below.

yours is 16 = 1916
Above: your Frog stud has a plain face not double grooved like the one above.
