If there is war in land, there is war in media as well and it is called war

propaganda. War propaganda is the branch of public relations devoted to

manipulating people's attitude towards a war or war in general, rather than
engaging in open dialogue.

In the article, “Propaganda war: Weaponizing the internet” by Maria A.

Ressa, it is stated that “Weaponizing the internet is a strategy of "death by a
thousand cuts" – a chipping away at facts, using half-truths that fabricate an
alternative reality by merging the power of bots and fake accounts on social
media to manipulate real people.” We all know that internet is means of
communication but behind these communication, there is good and bad
information and propaganda(s) hidden and spreaded by the merging of bots and
fake accounts that can cause a change of beliefs and therefore, it may cause a
war. It shows that social media now a day create a propaganda that
can manipulate people’s mind and actions. It removes the society that we expect
to have. Propaganda can weaken someone”s self-esteem; it can make them feel
that they’re lives are not worth living for because of the fake news that are
attacking them. It kills lives.

We are all living in digital world and lots of negative effects brought by
social media, that’s why it is very important for us to be a media and information
literate so that we can all know the difference between the fallacious information
and accurate information. We must responsible enough of our action. Don’t be a
made-up story teller, instead, let’s play hide and seek; let’s hide the false
information and seek the truth.
