If you find yourself with a modem but no router, you can share one computers

connection to other devices with a few commands. Youll need to ensure that your
computer has a wired and wireless network connection, or a data and Wi-Fi
connection. The wireless connection can be shared and used by other computers,
tablets and phones.

Using Windows Command Prompt, you can create a virtual network and share it to
provide internet access to other devices:Launch a Command Prompt with Administrator
privileges and enter the following command:
netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=+ry2c0nn3c+ key=wawawiwow
netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=4sale key=jokelang

Change the SSID value to choose a different name if you want, and use key to set
a password. This will create a virtual network adapter.
Start the new virtual adapter by running the following command:
netsh wlan start hostednetwork
netsh wlan stop hostednetwork

Go to the Control Panel and open up the Network and Sharing Center. You should see
your new virtual adapter listed there (as shown in the screenshot above). Click the
Local Area Connection link (or whatever shows up next to Connections).
Click the Properties button in the window that appears.
Head to the Sharing tab and then check the Allow other network users to connect
through this computers Internet connection box.
Use the drop down menu to select the virtual network adaptor youve created.
Click OK followed by Close.
You should now be able to connect other devices to the network you created and
enjoy a shared internet connection.

Just right-click your desktop, go to New Shortcut, and put that start command into
the shortcut. Give it a cool icon and now you have a 1-click way to start it
anytime you want.

This happen after you disable via Control Panel -> network adapters -> right click
button on the virtual connection -> disable

To fix that go to Device Manager (Windows-key + x + m on windows 8, Windows-key +

x then m on windows 10), then open the network adapters tree , right click button
on Microsoft Hosted Network Virtual Adapter and click on enable.

Try now with the command netsh wlan start hostednetwork with admin privileges. It
should work.

Note: If you don't see the network adapter with name 'Microsoft Hosted Network
Virtual Adapter' try on menu -> view -> show hidden devices in the Device Manager
window.
