passed directions that must be adhered to while conducting trial of child sexual abuse or rape. i) They were as follows: Special arrangements such as a screen must be made so as to ensure that the victim or witness do not see the body or face of the accused. ii) The questions for cross examination must be framed and given to the Presiding Officer of the Court who must then put them to the victim or witness in a language that is clear and not embarrassing. iii) Adequate breaks must be given to the victims of child abuse or rape while they give their testimony in court. UNNAO RAPE CASE (2017-18) The Unnao rape case refers to the alleged rape of a 17 year old girl on 4 June 2017. Two separate chargesheets have been filed in the case so far. The first chargesheet was filed by the Central Bureau of Investigationon 11 July 2018.and naming Kuldeep Singh Sengar, a Bhartiya Janata Party Member of the Legislative Assembly from Uttar Pradesh, as an accused in the alleged rape of a 17 year old girl.The second chargesheet was filed on 13 July 2018 and named Kuldeep Singh Sengar and his brother, three policemen and five other people for allegedly framing the Unnao rape survivor’s father. The Unnao rape case and the Kathua rape case received national attention during the same period, leading to joint protests seeking justice for both victims. THE KATHUA RAPE CASE(2018) The Kathua rape case refers to the abduction, rape, and murder of an 8-year-old girl, Asifa Bano, in Rasana village near Kathua in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir in January 2018. In the wake of Kathua rape case, the central government passed the ordinance to amend the posco act to grant death penalty to child rapists( where the child is below 12 years) speedy trials under 2 months and no anticipatory bail
