STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE - PD OFFLINE CALIBRATOR

1. Remove the inject capacitor and calibration cable from the PD system.
2. Connect the offline calibrator in place of inject capacitor.
3. Select 8PC or any one value in PD computer system and set the same value in offline calibrator.
4. Now click on the Cal. Set the PD value will be same as already set in both software and offline
calibrator.
5. Now change PD value in offline calibrator 20, 40, 80PC etc. and the same value will show in the
PD calibration. Click on the test start on PD software and then switch off the offline PD calibrator
and the remaining background noise will show on the system.
6. Connect the Final HV output to the oil termination kit.
7. Connect the earth wire to the metallic screen i.e. copper tape of the test specimen.
8. Ensure the PD Chamber is completely closed & no human being inside the same.
9. Choose the Right Tapping (50/80/120KV) as suitable for the test specimen.
50KV Tapping – For 11KV cable =>500mtrs & Core stage testing.
80KV Tapping – For 11KV cable <500mtrs and 22KV, 33KV Full length.
120KV Tapping – For 66KV & less than 100mtrs samples of all type of cable specimen.
10. Click on the Run button (Green Arrow in Tool Bar).
11. Enter the Test no. Select the seq. name i.e. cable rated voltage then Press Ok.
12. Click on the HV ON button to start the HV test.
13. Click on the Auto Button of the Resonance & wait until the cursor will be stable.
14. Click on the Auto Button of the regulator & wait until the Set voltage will achieve.
15. Note the PD values from the PD detector software.
16. Discharge the test specimen with the help of discharging rod.
