Performance limitations or limitations on the functionality of the ma- chine can arise due to: + Incorrect operation. ‘+ Incorrect maintenance end repair. ‘+ Unsuitable olls, greases or fuels. 1.02.04 Climatic conditions Low ambient temperature {In cold weather the start performance and the operation of the diesel engine depends on the following points: + Fuels used + Engine oll viscosity ‘+ State of the battery Pieces of advice for the operation in cold weather: + Aftar starting leave engine run until an operating temperature of at least 80°C (176°F) is reached. By reaching the right operating tem- perature, It Is avoided that the inlet and exhaust valves get stuck. + Aftar shutting down the engine the cooling and lubrication systems {are not immediately cold. That means that the engine can be shut down for a few hours and afterward be restarted without problems. + Below 0°C (32°F) use winter fuel. ‘+ Before the cold season starts, fil in the right lubricant. + Weekly check all parts (hoses, V-belts etc.) + Check all electrical cables and connections for chafe marks and damage at the insulation. + Keep the battery charged and warm. ‘+ Fill fuel tank at the end of every working shift 46 / 253 BAL_1382_2125422 01 en © Joseph Vogele AG 2016 VOGELE a General Protection of the environment {At special operating conditions different greases, oils and fuels have to be used. At low outside temperatures wait a few minutes after starting the diesel engine unti pulling away. Run the machine only at low load dur- Ing the warm-up phase until the oll of the hydraulic system has heated Lup to approx. + 20 °C (68 °F) High ambient temperature, high altitude ‘The maximum power of the engine, exhaust gas quality, temperature level and in extreme cases the starting characteristics can be impaired.
