Task Site clearing, Excavation works, and tank installation

- Protective body wear (Overalls, Overcoats, coveralls)
The Supervisor will assess the suitability of all personal protective equipment. Operatives will be instructed what type of
personal protective equipment to wear and when it must be used. Visitors will be required to wear high visibility jackets or
waistcoats, hard hats and safety footwear.

-Arrive on site
-Discussion of risk assessments.
-Carry out tool box talks.
- Tools and equipment to carry out the tasks will be checked for safety. Any damaged or Faulty equipment will be repaired or
replaced.
- Electrical equipment will be tested and Checked for correct operation before and after use.
-Cable trucking
-Drawings provided by the principle contractor will be checked to ensure work is carried out according to their requirements
-Site set up and demarcation of work area including delivery of materials and work equipment a site.
-The site levelling will start off using the 13-ton excavator and tracked in leaving site all levels and clean.
-Excavation will be done to the recommended depth using the 13-ton excavator.
-Dispose of waste material in accordance with current Waste Regulations.
- Provision of site services where not in place.
-Assembly/ferrying in of materials.
-After completion of the works at this phase to the Client’s satisfaction, equipment not required at the site will be demobilised.
Possible hazards and threats As derived from the risk assessment carried out from the site;
- Slips, trips and falls on the same level and heights
- Falls from elevated sides of surfaces/levels
- Injury caused by falling objects, by stepping on sharp objects,
and by impact and collision with sharp or protruding objects like metals.
- Contact with and exposure to extreme temperatures.
- Injury by Caught in or under as a result of collapse of an excavated pit.
- Eye injury, caused by flying splinters/particles of stone and metal, or created throughout excavation.
- Exposure to strong and continuous noise in work areas (concrete mixer, vibrators)
- Ergonomics hazards, especially those resulting from work posture, manual handling etc.
-Potential exposure to dust during excavation works.
- Existing underground services.
- Equipment failure.
- Risk of being hit by rotating heavy mechanical equipment
- Traffic during transporting out excess materials by trucks from the site.
Precaution to Describe the precautions/recovery measures that will be taken
reduce/mitigate risk - Wear safety-shoes/gum boots with non-slip soles.
-Use of Personal Protective Equipment fit for protecting for work.
- All work surfaces shall be properly installed, be securely fenced in order to prevent their collapse/breakage.
-All means for preventing worker injury shall be applied prior to and during excavation; compliance with the specific
regulations dealing with excavation.
-Work surfaces, floors, footpaths and similar passages will be free from all obstacles/barriers.
-Putting signages such as open excavated pit
-Use of cable detectors in allocating the underground cables.
- Pre-inspection of tools and equipment.
-Use of safety road warning signages and flag men.
Details of any Isolations Examples:
- Hoarding the site off from public access by unauthorized personnel or vehicles.
- Marking out lines for underground surfaces.
- Provision of all appropriate warning and detour signs when sidewalks, exits, or roads are closed.
Disposal of surplus or Disposal details, e.g. when, where to, how, etc.
