SYMBIOSIS LAW SCHOOL-PUNE

PROGRAMME STRUCTURE 2019-20

1. OBJECTIVE The highlight of this programme is its emphasis on an


interdisciplinary, comparative and global approach in the
study of law and research orientation. This is done by
underlining the relevance of research methodology with
utmost technical precision and scientific sophistication.
The student has the option of a cafeteria approach in
terms of specialization, cross specialization courses
combining innovation, cutting edge legal acumen, clinical
skills and theoretical insights.

2. DURATION One Year Full Time


3. INTAKE 70 Students (2 Batches of 70 students each if there are
sufficient faculty)

4. RESERVATION I. Within the sanctioned intake:

5. ELIGIBILITY Three Years/ Five Years LLB degree from any Indian or
Foreign University recognized by University Grants
Commission with at least 50% marks or equivalent grade
(45% for SC/ST)

11. ASSESSMENT All internal courses will have 100% component as
internal evaluation at the institute level. All external
courses will have 60% continuous evaluation component
and 40% Term end examination.

12. STANDARD OF The assessment of the student for each examination is


PASSING done, based on relative performance. Maximum Grade
Point (GP) is 10 corresponding to O (Outstanding). For all
courses, a student is required to pass both internal and
external examination separately with a minimum Grade
Point of 4 corresponding to Grade P. Students securing
less than 40% absolute marks in each head of passing
will be declared FAIL. The University awards a degree to
the student who has achieved a minimum CGPA of 4 out
of maximum of 10 CGPA for the programme.

13. AWARD OF Master of Laws (LLM) will be awarded at the end of


DEGREE semester II examination by taking into consideration the
performance of all Semester examinations after obtaining
minimum 4.00 CGPA out of 10 CGPA.
