Mass communication – between a sender and a large audience. Mass medium interposed.
Mass media take the influence on society.
Media - platforms or vehicles that industries have developed for the purposes of creating and
sending messages.

Convergence – the ability of different media to easily interact with each other because they all
deal with information in the same digital form. Takes place when products are typically linked
to one medium shows up on many media.

 Creates the potential for reaching a large number of diverse, anonymous people at
around the same time.
Mass media industries
 Communication businesses delivering messages capable of reaching audiences of
billions of divers, anonymous people simultaneously.
