The Wave (Norwegian: Bølgen): Is a 2015 Norwegian disaster film directed

by Roar Uthaug. It was Norway's official submission for the Academy Award
for Best Foreign Language Film at the 88th Academy Awards but failed to
be nominated. The movie depicts a future event in Møre og Romsdal in
which the Åkerneset crevasse collapses, creating an avalanche resulting in
an 80 meter tall tsunami that destroys everything in its path.

Volcano: Is a 1997 American disaster film directed by Mick Jackson. The film
features Tommy Lee Jones, Anne Heche, and Don Cheadle. Jones is cast as
the head of the Los Angeles County Office of Emergency Management
(LAC OEM), which has complete authority in the event of an emergency or
natural disaster. His character attempts to divert the path of a dangerous
lava flow through the streets of Los Angeles following the formation of a
volcano at the La Brea Tar Pits.

The Day After Tomorrow: Is a 2004 American science fiction disaster film co-
written, directed, and produced by Roland Emmerich and starring Dennis
Quaid, Jake Gyllenhaal, Ian Holm, Emmy Rossum, and Sela Ward. It is based
on the book The Coming Global Superstorm by Art Bell and Whitley Strieber.
The film depicts catastrophic climatic effects following the disruption of the
North Atlantic Ocean circulation in a series of extreme weather events that
usher in global cooling and lead to a new ice age.

The Perfect Storm: Is a 2000 American biographical disaster drama film


directed by Wolfgang Petersen and based on the 1997 non-fiction book of
the same name by Sebastian Junger. The film tells the story of the Andrea
Gail, a commercial fishing vessel that was lost at sea with all hands after
being caught in the Perfect Storm of 1991. The film stars George Clooney,
Mark Wahlberg, William Fichtner, Michael Ironside. It was released on June
30, 2000, by Warner Bros.
