PRINCIPLES OF TEACHING

1. What strategy would you use in teaching?

Being an effective teacher therefore requires the implementation of
creative and innovative teaching strategies in order to meet students’
individual needs. It is really difficult to choose which among the
teaching strategies is to use that will actually work for the students so as
a future educator I must think of a strategy that I think would work and
I guess I would use technology in the classroom since this is already 21st
century and I’m sure students’ can relate to this.

2. Why you like the strategy? Why is it effective?

I like this strategy because I’m pretty sure that using technology
into teaching is a great way to actively engage your students especially as
digital media surrounds the 21st century children in this generation.
Whiteboards, laptops or mobile devices can be used to display images,
videos, which help students visualize new academic concepts. Learning
can become more interactive when technology is used as students can
physically engage during lessons as well as instantly research their
ideas, which develops autonomy.

3. How will you maximize the strategy?

I will maximize this strategy by using the ones that best apply to
me and to the students. I will use videos for mini-lessons. I can surf the
web or browse by category, quickly finding relevant videos. This easy way
to use technology in the classroom adds a multimedia element to the
lessons, which can effectively resonate with visual learners. I will also
add multimedia elements to presentations whereas slideshow
presentations entirely made up of text can disengage students, ones with
multimedia elements can effectively hold their attention by varying
content delivery. It’s likely that slideshow presentations already play a
part in your lessons, and adding different kinds of media can make them
more engaging.
