-ELECTRICAL GROUP
2.3: The box. Waterproof type box made of pretreated steel sheet of 2 mm. thick, covered with a galvanized
coating. Panels forming it are joint by welding. The finishing, both inside and outside, is of poliester paint,
applied electrostatically after sheet preparation in tunnels of controlled treatment,
Its door disposes normally of closing by handle and padlock. Under request, key lock handle can be set-
ted as well
Back side has five individual supports on which mechanical group is fixed. Motor mechanism is also ancho-
raged on these supports avoiding the box to suffer any effort as consequence of the mechanical operation.
To get ventilation inside the box, there are holes in the bottom side and top part of laterals, protected
against the entrance of water and insects. In the bottom side there are a window with a cover whereon are

this limiting device keeping the torque at 85 kg.m., avoiding mechanical damages and possible failures in
the motor, It would allow 2s well as the motor goes on working normally unti its own security systems work,
* Gear (reduction) box wnereon itis acted the crank to carry out manual operating. On introducing the
Crank in this component. it is operated the limit switch (3) locking electrically the motor mechanism. Under
request, another limit swich can be incorporated to lock switch-disconnector; itis also possible to incor-
porate a key lock, electromagnetic interlocking, or both devices simultaneously, to lock manual operating.
Reduction is made by means of gears and endless screw whose wheel is assembled directly on the axis,
‘of the motor mechanism This system makes unit AE-85 be non-reversible.

4-INSTALLATION
4.1 Motor mechanism AE-85 can be coupled to rotating type isolator to substitute, where needed, manual ope-
rating mechanism, To assemble the motor mechanism itis required an overall drawing where the situation
of each component and its particular arrangements are showed.
The isolator and its correspondent motor mechanism must be assembled in the same structure. If his is not
possible, special care will be taken in order to foundations of both units are rigid enough to avoid initial dis
tances between axis are mocified due to warping movements, flexion, etc., produced by the motor me-
cchanism action
4.2. After having unpacked and carried out an ocular inspection to check if there were any defect (bumps,
breakings, etc.) there would be proceeded to its assembly
Motor mechanism has in its back side five anchoring supports with socket asparagus size M12 x 40 depth.
Place unit and fix it to the anchoring supports screwing it. Only these anchorings will be used and no other
fixings such as clamps new holes, etc, will be made.
4.3. Motor mechanism AE-85 is supplied with electrical cabling wholly realized according to wiring diagram
forwarded enclosed Only out going connection remains to be made at sit.
Special attention will be pai to the feeding, making sure that current (diet o alternating), and voltage co-
incige with those of, the unit. When OC, polarity of feeding terminals will be taken into account
4.4- Due to its design and to be supplied wholy adjusted at works later on adjustements are few and easy to make.
Below are described steps to be followed up when necessary to make them at site.
ADJUSTMENT OF UNIT AE-85 AND ITS ACCESORIES
Motor mechanism AE-85 is designed for an axis angle of 90 degrees, with fixed and mechanical type ends
‘and limit switches adjusted for that angle.
Once made assembly of isolator and necessary transmissions, with isolator in OPENED position, proceed
this way:
-Operating handly by means of crank, motor mechanism will be on; mechanical ends of the run must re-
main unforced,
‘This position is obtained rotating the crank up to the end of its run and then making it come half a turning
back. At this point limit switch will operate,
- Being the top plate fixed to the lower one, dill the tube of the vertical transmission according to the holes
of the coupling plate. Then. joi the transmission to the plate by means of the correspondent bolts

SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE
- Make work unit AE-85 and isolator to check their performance paying special care to the CLOSED position.
(On reaching isolator closed position, limit switches must have already acted. If not, there will be proceeded
to its adjustment introducing the screw N? 1 (Fig.7) in its thread to get less turning of the command axis.
However, it wll never be used to get higher turning,
= If the command is of indirect attack to isolator, itis advised to introduce the adjustment between AE-85
and isolator.
~ On the contrary, if the command is of indirect attack, the most suitable final adjustment will be got giving
more of less length, according to requirements, to the horizontal transmission,
5- OPERATION
5.1- As preventive measure, once made outside electrical connections, operate motor mechanism OFF-LOAD.
To do this, vertical transmission and. coupling plate will be wholly separated from plate placed in the axis of
‘AE-85. Never will be carried out more than 10 operations each 15 minutes.
5,2. To carry out local electrical operation, motor mechanism AE-86 disposes of LOCAL-REMOTE selector swit-
ch, and ON-OFF push buttons (Fig.4)
5.- For the manual operation of unit AE-85, a crank is forwarded inside the box. On introducing the crank, an
auxiliary contact acts (3) (Fig.3), making impossible any electrical operation while its in.
Crank attaks directly the spindle of the end-less reduction. 17 crank-tumns are needed to form a 90 degrees
turning in the axis of the motor mechanism.

‘SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE
6: MAINTENANCE
Nor mechanical or electrical group need any special maintenance unless this components suffer breakings
‘or damages that impede the normal working
There will be looked after dust accumulated inside, ifthe unit is installed in dusty sites, and the possible lo-
cal rustings of the box or inside panel, due to damages produced in its protection during assembly or work-
ing in the installation.
If the motor mechanism has not worked after being installed, itis advised several ON-OFF operations be
carried out at least once a year. So itis assured mobile parts of isolator and unit AE-85 are in good working
conditions.
7- SPARE PARTS
‘Spare parts must be considered in accordance with the number of units working in the installation, so it wll
be the user who decides the quantity of each element reserved as spare.
AAs quiadance, there are related below the most liable elements to be replaced some time.
Within the mechanical group there is not any element easy to fail. In case of a great deal, for example 20
Units AE-85, it could be interesting to dispose of a spare motor.
Concerning to electrical group, advised spare parts are: one reversing contactor for the motor, one time re-
lay, one switch and one heating resistor, for each 10 units working. There will be spared too several fuses of
suitable rating. User will decide to dispose or not of any other element forming unit AE-86.
When there is a considerable number of motor mechanisms working in the same installation, it is recom-
mended, to dispose of one or several complete units to be able to replace one damaged and repair it out of
service site.
Obviously, any repairing will be made being the installation out of service,
