The brain is the control center of the body. It responds and interacts with the rest of the body as a unit; however, there are spe-
cialized regions within the brain that oversee unique functions such as movement, vision, analysis, etc. In this experiment, you will
learn the anatomy of the brain and the functional areas vital to our everyday actions.
PROCEDURE
1. Lay the swim cap on a flat surface, or ask a partner to put it on while you map.
2. Outline the following lobes:
• Frontal
• Temporal
• Parietal
• Occipital
3. On the left side of the swim cap, outline the following structures:
• Broca’s Area
• Wernicke’s Area
• Cerebellum
• Pars Trangularis
• Pars Opercularis
• Postcentral Gyrus
• Precentral Gyrus
• Premotor Cortex
• 3 = Broca’s Area
• 4 = Touch
• 7 = Wernicke’s Area
• 8 = Writing
5. Take a few pictures of your swim cap, and submit them to your instructor. Be sure to capture each angle of the swim cap
