1.0BEARINGS

1.1 Lead Content in the Bearing

While manufacturing Bearings the lead content should be less than 0.06 percent (Ref.
Discussion with Mr. Prabhakar, BHEL). If lead content is more the bonding will not be
good. Reuse of Babbit material also increases the content of Lead. While applying
coatings on the bearings also ensure that the coatings are lead free.
