Scope and Application of the Act

Labor law 2006 has been made applicable to all establishment and for all worker
except certain Categories.
These categories include
1. Government Offices
2. Security painting press and ordnance factories
3. Shops and stalls in any public exhibition engaged in retail sale only and
shops or stalls in any public for religious and charitable purpose
4. Charitable establishments like hospital, old homes, orphanage, asylums etc.
5. Educational, Training and research institutions
6. Hotels and messes not maintain for profit or gains
7. Small agriculture farms, small establishments run by the family member only
and domestics hand.
Labor law partially applicable for certain employees and workers of the government
and educational establishments, seamen. The act shell not apply for any
establishment for treatment or care of the sick, inform, aged, destitute, mentally
disable, orphan, abandoned, child, widows or deserted women, which are not run for
profit or gain.
