Chapter III

Research Methodology

This Chapter presents the discussion on the Research Design, Data

Collection Method, Data Gathering Instrument and Procedure, and Statistical

Treatment.

Research Design

In this study we use the descriptive method as our research methodology.

It provides a relatively complete picture of what is occurring at a given time. It

also allows the development of questions for further study.

Data Collection Method

The researchers used the survey method to provide a quantitative or

numeric description of the effectiveness of the Parallel Learning Program on Pre-

Calculus and to know the opinions of the population to the Teaching Strategy

applied.

Data Gathering Instruments

The researchers prepared a set of questions which will be answered by the

chosen respondents. This survey will be the means in gathering the results. A

questionnaire will be distributed for each respondents to answer concerning the

effects of Parallel Learning Program on Pre-Calculus.

Sampling Procedure
Simple Random sampling was used to complete the needed amount

of respondents for the research. It is to give chances to others and to

further increase the validity of this study.

Procedure of Data

The researchers personally administered the research instruments to the

respondents. The respondents were given enough time to accomplish the items

to prevent them from giving hasty response. The researchers tabulated all the

data after they collected all the given questionnaires.

Statistical Treatment

The statistical treatment used by the researchers in analyzing and

interpreting the data is by Frequency and Percentage Distribution. This is

used to determine the percentage for the data which are from the survey
