Classroom Management Plan

I will be using our school-wide Cougar CAR²ES (Cooperative, Accepting, Respectful,

Responsible, Empathetic, and Scholarly) core values and CHAMPs (Conversation, Help, Activity,
Movement, Participation, Success) expectations, in conjunction with our classroom rules and
consequences.

Classroom Rules
1. Listen when someone is talking
2. Have permission to speak
3. Follow directions quickly
4. Be a caring friend
5. Always do your best

Rule-Violation - 1st Consequence

There will be a couple of warnings given and students may be asked to visit our Cool Down Spot
to reset themselves to make better choices. There are tools at the Cool Down Spot to give the brain
a break and help reset like sensory bottles, exercises, fidgets, etc.

Rule-Violation – 2nd Consequence

When a student has to be given a third warning, they will have to go to the Cool Down Spot and
fill out a Behavior Reflection Sheet, see attached page.

Rule-Violation – 3rd Consequence

For continued violation of the rules after filling out a Behavior Reflection Sheet, students will
either be sent to re-focus in another classroom or be sent to the office with a behavior referral
depending on the severity of the offense. For extremely inappropriate behavior, the above may be
by-passed and a more direct action will be taken by an administrator.

I do realize that since every child is different, this classroom management plan may need to be
modified to best meet a student’s needs. I will contact you to discuss my concerns if I feel your
child would benefit from a modified or alternate behavior plan. Feel free to contact me if you have
concerns as well.
