T
he Harmony with LEGO Bricks Playalong doesn’t contain any actual tunes.
However, all the individual songs in Part VII a LEGO Bricks approach to Some Core Repertoire
have some recommended Playalongs at the end of the discussion. This is a list of those
recommendations, arranged by Playalong Album, so that you can prioritise your own
acquisitions.
If you get any of these, be aware that publishers sometimes have some odd notions of what is useful, and
that you would often be well advised to make your own copy of the lead sheet.
These are the things which might make you do that.
First, the publisher might not be using the four measures to a line layout, so the pattern of the song is never
clear, and you can’t see easily when a following section repeats devices in the preceding one.
Then, the publisher might present the chords additionally, separate from the melody. This is a really bad
idea, because, as we have seen, the melody signals where we are in the chorus.
