PART 2
2. In exercising, your body tissues need a lot of energy meaning more consumption of oxygen comparing
to resting. Having more oxygen means you are going to produce more carbon dioxide in your exhaled
breath due to your metabolic rate being elevated. There is also a shift from fat to carbohydrate
consumption/utilization during exercise (Livestrong, n.d.).

3. Exercise increases your breathing rate. Exercising requires more oxygen for your muscles, lungs and
heart. The more intense the exercise, the more energy you will need thus increase in intake of oxygen
which leads to often ventilation; an increase of rate in breathing.
4. As said in the previous numbers, exercise requires the body to have more oxygen because the quick
shift in need of increase of energy. More oxygen is needed for our tissues and muscles for cellular
respiration to produce more energy. The heart must beater faster than usual to supply or give the body
the amount of oxygen it needs to do the action.
