SOLILOQUY

Celing

Ahahaha… My poor husband… Whatever will you do without me? I have taken Teban to the
gallera so that our money will not be wasted. I wish you would change. I am so sick and tired of your
little dreams that you call “signs”! When will you ever change?! Have you no regret or remorse? Do you
want to drag our lives into the pit? Is this what you call a game? The chickens receive more attention
and love than me. Do you want to marry those beasts that peck on the ground? Are you their father?
My heart swells and rages of your immaturity. I stayed because I want to help. What must I do for you to
change? Am I not enough? Is it because I don’t support you because you’re a sabungero? Is it because I
don’t have wings? You are insufferable. I will wait then, for your return. I want to see the tears flowing
from your face and hitting the floor as you beg for mercy. I am not something to be played with! I want
us to be happy. Why can't that happen? The chickens are pleading for mercy. They want to live. Do you
have no heart? Kulas, who are you? Ever since the day we lived under the same roof, you began to hang
out with what you call "friends". Now, look at you! You're miserable! But I still care for you. And so I
must out-smart you to save us from drowning. I, your loving, faithful wife must resort to betting against
you. The lengths I do to keep our marriage. So stay.
