September Stuff
It’s hard to believe we are going into the
month of September this Sunday. It is an
exciting time to be a part of our church!
There is a lot happening that I wanted to
remind you of:
 Podcast Refresh – we are in the process
of improving our podcast by creating a
new name, new music and new
voiceovers. Previous episodes will still
be available after the launch of the
refreshed podcast. We’re having a
contest to see who can come up with a
snappy, attention grabbing title. The
winner will receive a valuable prize, in
addition to having your title recognized
by the hundreds of people who listen to
the podcast each week. The deadline for
submission to Darla or me is September
8. You can email, text or call with your
entry. I will announce the winner in the
worship service that day. Take your best
shot!
 Email Refresh – we are updating our
weekly email format so that the content
of the email will appear in the body of
the email rather than a separate
download. We have heard your
suggestions that we make this happen.
We hope to have the transition complete
by the end of September so that you will
see the new format the first week in
October. Thank you for your patience as
we switch over to a new system. Printed
copies of the newsletter will still be
available for those who don’t use email.
 New Sermon Series – One group of
questions that comes up repeatedly is
about pain and suffering. None of us is
immune to suffering and we want to
know where God is in the midst of it.
This month’s sermon series, “F.A.Q.’s
About Suffering,” will tackle your
questions head-on. I hope that you will
join us and bring a friend.
 Football season starts – As a Dallas
Cowboys fan, the sermon series on
suffering, is perfect timing. Enough said.
