100% perfect sealing answer. Super's DESIGN criteria is always very
precisely based on shaft size, temperature, pressure as well as physical
and chemical characteristics of the process fluid, as these are custom-
made to suit to specific applications. After the DESIGN is approved, Super
Mechanical seals are manufactured at an ultra-modern and well-equipped
manufacturing facilities, where the Super team of qualified and
experienced engineers, technocrats and production experts ensure world-
class manufacturing quality. The R & D Department keeps quality
upgraded to International Standard and submits performance report of

Super Mechanical Seals - A prelude

The mating Faces of seals are carefully selected from various grades of
Carbon, Tungsten Carbide, Silicon Carbide, Stellite, Ni-Resist, Supralloy,
Hastelloy - B & Hastelloy - C, Bronze, Ceramic, Chromium Oxide coated
on SS316 etc. Some of these raw materials are of special grade used for
the manufacturing of Mechanical Seals and are imported from reputed
manufacturers from U.S.A., Germany, U.K., etc.
The secondary seals are made from various grades of Rubber like Viton,
Silicon, Neoprene, Buna-N, EPT and also of Teflon, Glass filled Teflon,
Graphite etc.
The Metal parts of the seals are usually made of Titanium, Hastelloy-B,
Hastelloy-C Alloy 20, SS 316, etc. These Metals are thoroughly chemically
analysed for their properties to establish genuinity before being processed.
Flatness of highly lapped faces are checked to millionth of an inch by
optical light to ensure proper sealing faces. This inspection is done under
a Helium Monochromatic check light.

Multi-spring Seals are designed for compactness and easy installation. They are used in rotating equipments which
handle clear liquids under normal PV conditions. They are durable and provide high operational reliability because of
their design which comprises of appropriate mating faces and secondary seal rings of relevant elastomers.

Single coiled spring seals are compactly designed to ensure efficient handling of liquids containing solid particles like
slurries, sludges, sewage, viscous and abrasive materials. Both the faces of such seals are designed to take care of the
presence of solid particles in the liquid, which would otherwise damage the mating faces and contaminate the process.

This is the most commonly used seal range for
various rotating equipments - because of its
simple construction and all-purpose utility
employing secondary seal in the form of a
rubber bellow. These seals also offer all
advantages of single-coiled spring seals and
are of various face combinations to suit diverse
applications.
SALIENT FEATURES
The single-coiled spring is non-clogging and
self cleaning. The rubber bellow and spring
compensate for shaft run-out (to some extent)
thereby making the seal quite versatile. Also,
its' simple and compact design makes it easy
to handle, install and ensures practically zero
maintenance.
6242 TEFLON BELLOW SEAL

The Most versatile range of seals for handling
acids. It is unrivalled in its ability to withstand
corrosive fluids and is highly resistant to
oxidising and reducing agents. Thats' because
it is made out of chemically inert materials like
PTFE, GFT, Ceramic, Carbon, Silicon Carbide,
Hastelloy `C' which come in contact with the
acids during the operation and perform reliably
under all, even extreme corrosive conditions.
SALIENT FEATURES
The hydraulically balanced and flexible bellow
accommodates shaft run-out and seal hang-
up. These seals are also compactly designed
for easy installation and virtually nil
maintenance. The multiple springs with bellow
provide uniform pressure all over the seal face
to ensure effective sealing.

A double mechanical seal is a combination of two seals mounted back-to-back, or single retainer having both
side sealing faces or tandem type. These seals can be single-coiled or multi spring and can have a combination
of unbalance/unbalance, unbalance/balance or balance/balance type seal. These seals are ideal for handling
toxic/abrasive media. To cool the sealing faces during operation, a clean compatible liquid is circulated
between the two seals at a pressure higher by one bar than the process fluid. The inner seal prevents the
barrier fluid from entering the system while the outer seal prevents it from leaking to the atmosphere. The
circulation of barrier fluid is done with the help of Thermosyphon or Forced Circulation Pump.

These seals are the perfect answer for sealing slurries, highly abrasive, volatile and toxic liquids.

conditions.
 CLASS SMS - 5000 FOR AGITATORS

Super Agitator Seals of SMS 5000 Class are just superb, i.e. the summary of all Agitator Seals. These
Seals are specially designed for Agitators, Mixers, Autoclaves etc. Special Seals have been successfully
designed for Glass Lined Reaction Vessels to handle severe operating conditions of highly corrosive
Acids, Toxics and Gas emitting products. The type and arrangements of Double Mechanical Seals and
Dry Seals depend upon Pressure, Temperature, Nature of Fluids etc.
For higher Temperature application, the Seal assembly has got jacketed chamber to circulate chilled
water to bring down the temperature. Also normally chilled / plain water is passed through the cooling
coil of Thermosiphon to bring down the temperature of compatible barrier fluid circulated in seal housing
to maintain the continuous cooling. Bottom portion of Seal Housing is also designed with heat trapping
jacketed cooling to reduce the temperature around the bottom seal face.
For higher pressure application, Balance Seals are used for successful performance. The total assembly
is precisely inspected and assembled with preadjusted working length in factory itself and are put on
dynamic performance test with pressurised fluid for at least 12 hrs. before supplied to clients.
