The decay of earths magnetic field and its effects on us

Our blue planet as we know it is formed around an iron core. This iron core is equipped with its own
magnetic field, just like a magnet. This magnetic field is has blanketed our planet for eons. This
magnetic field serves a very vital function. It acts as a shield. A shield that protect us from the harmful
cosmic rays and solar flare particles that are radioactive in nature which as we all know is harmful for
us. This shield has ensured our survival for age,but now itʼs existence is threatened.

Scientists have found that the earths magnetic field is rapidly weakening. This weakening is very
abnornal and is random in nature. The earths magnetic field shifts every 100000 years or so,but thsi
decay is not part of this shift. Some places such as africa have witnessed an anomaly that led to the
magnetic field to weaken to such an extent that satellites were unable to cross that patch due to the
cosmic rays. Scientists are now trying to understand this anomaly and one of the reasons they put
forward is global warming. They believe that the abnormal heating of the earths surface, cause the
magnetic poles to shift abnormally likeit did quite recently from Canada towards siberia. Scientists
suggest that the co2 and greenhouses gasses in the atmosphere cause the decay of said magnetic
field. It is also believed that the extraction of fossil fuels leads to an abnormal movement in the earths
core resulting in the change of the magnetic field. Such anomalies have caused our satellites to either
get damaged or go out of sync. Animals who use their magnetic sense in order to migrate have also
suffered.

I would like to conclude my speech by requesting each and everyone one of us to spread awareness
regarding this glaring issue which put our very existence at risk and do what little we can do to save it.
