I am writing this recommendation letter on behalf of Hannah Tweedy. Hannah was a Level III Field
Experience student in my self-contained preschool special education classroom during the 2017-2018
school year.

Hannah worked with three and four year old students with special needs, including autism and down
syndrome. She showed great concern and care for students by building relationships. Throughout her
experience, she dedicated time to understand their strengths and interests as she worked on building
social, cognitive, language, and academic skills. Students felt comfortable taking risks, experiencing
first time events, and confidence with her encouragement, calm and patient demeanor, as well as her
flexibility to accommodate student needs.

With active participation, Hannah collaborated with the lead teacher and paraprofessionals to help
create a positive classroom and school climate. She had the opportunity to implement light and shadows
through the project approach, enabling her to guide students through in-depth studies of real world
topics based on student interest and effort. Hannah was dedicated and showed professionalism, arriving
on time, completing her class expectations and beyond, and using reflective inquiry by asking questions
to be equipped in helping students with complex needs.

I would recommend Hannah for a teaching position working with early childhood and elementary-aged
children. She would be an asset to any school district as she has a natural way of building relationships
and teaching students and families in a positive, nurturing way.
