Entry into the CPA Canada Advanced Certificate in Accounting and Finance (CPA ACAF) requires completion of five entry courses listed below, typically covered in an
accounting diploma program, with a minimum grade of 60% in the courses with an asterisk (*) and a passing grade of 50% in all other courses.

The entry and technical course requirements in ACAF can be completed through the CPA preparatory courses with the completion of 30 credit hours of study at a recognized
post-secondary institution OR three years of relevant work experience. It is recommended students have successfully completed the five entry courses prior to beginning the
technical courses.
(*) courses must have been completed within 10 years from the time of enrollment.

Courses listed in the CPA PEP Prerequisite Course Equivalency Chart may be used to grant exemption from the entry, technical and applied ACAF courses listed above
A single post-secondary course may appear against more than one ACAF entry, technical and/or applied course in cases where it covers competencies across multiple subject
areas.
Admission to the ACAF program also requires a student to be able to use Microsoft Excel

The courses listed above reflect those for which an exemption may be possible. The applied courses listed below are part of ACAF’s program of studies, but are non-exemptible
and therefore must be completed through CPA Canada (with the exception of Accounting Software Application).
Students are expected to successfully complete all prerequisite courses (or equivalent) for each ACAF entry, technical and applied course, as noted below:
