It tells the story of a scientist who created a human being with terrible results. Many famous horror films have been made about that man-made monster. Mary Shelley’s other novels include ‘Valpurga’ (1823), which is set in medieval Italy, and “The Last Man’ (1826), in which a killer disease wipes out humanity with the exception of one lone survivor. She was the second wife of Percy Shelley, one of the most distinguished English poets. Together they travelled in Europe and lived in France and Italy.
