Sociolinguistic background is the study or discussion of language in relation to speakers of the language
as members of society (Nababan, 1993: 2). Sociolinguistics studies language, society and language
relations with society. The main function of language is as a communication tool or interaction tool that
only humans have. In his life in society, actually humans can also use other communication tools, in
addition to language. However, it seems that language is the best, most perfect communication tool
compared to other communication tools including the communication tools used by animals.
